VERY interested in such a car.. in all conditions, from "ratty driver", to "beautiful show / survivor car", and will consider couch-cars.

Will travel / Pick-up running cars.. (preferably during January 2015)

I know they are few, and far between.. so I will also offer to "Stand under windows".... in rain.. (singing if necessary), and if so desired, I will also gladly pay for beers, during negotiations !!

I should also mention that, as of last week, I started doing "random good deeds", in order to deserve a strike of "Imperial luck".

The fuselage Imperial Coupe.. ages with style !

Edit: (Thanks to anonymous photographer for borrowing your fantastic picture of the net.. I have spent a good long time drooling over this)

Best of luck with your search, from what I've seen so far I would say you deserve to have your dream car.

Thanks detmatt.. I really hope one will fall in my lap.. (preferably Carsten's), ha ha.. MAN, that thing is gorgeous, but saving one "in a bad situation" would make me feel good too !!

Wreck or show car, I can promise to love and cherish it.. the shape of that thing does something to me !

PS: Thanks for the tip Carsten.. if your SF Imp-friend is annoyed over my stealing from the internet, I'll remove the pic of his "black beast" from my add..!

My man sounds addicted

Hi Carsten

No, actually I hadn't.. so thanks a lot man! I am SO busy in my shop at the moment, so I just work work work while there's fish in the river !

It's a beautiful car, and it seems unloved in that picture.. looking for a good home.. but it is also very, VERY brown.. I don't know if you read somewhere inhere, that we share the same opinion in regard to brown cars. (Only two things are supposed to be brown.. one of them is chocolate, and the other is NOT cars!)

Another thing that's bothering a little me about this deal, is that the price has been blown up to "Swedish import proportions", so at that price, it would have to be another color, (and preferably also a 70, with black buckets.. ;-). The ad says "mycket fin orörd original bil", (very nice untouched original car), so it would be a pity to start painting it, and messing up the interior, so at this point, I'd still rather find one myself, possibly with help from someone in here with a sharp eye, still in the US, and spend the inevitable "finders-fee" on restoring the car.

But in any case, I want to thank you for the link.. I really appreciate that you wrote me a message.. it could just as well have been another color that would have made me forget the "middle man / finders-fee issue".

Losing the deal on the white Imp in Colorado hurt my car-feelings a lot, but so far, I have actually found great comfort in shopping parts for the Charger.. (which btw. is coming along nicely). Mechanical this winter, and paint / interior next winter.

PS: I LOVE the side marker gills on the 69... They should never have changed those! That's one thing I'm "less fond of" with Chrysler.. Often, they improve ONE design feature, only to mess up another.. like the 69 - 70 Chrysler 300.. In 70' they "fixed" the tail lights, but messed up the grill (hope no one gets offended.. I love both cars, but imo, a mix of these two years would have been spot on perfect).

Thanks again for posting this link Carsten !!

"Wait.. there is more"..

I came to think about another thing dampening my enthusiasm for "brown beauties with tan interior". A thing which also induced patience in general, and that was seeing YOUR Imperial (which is matching nearly all my wildest Imperial-dreams), and knowing that there's a faint possibility that some day you might want to let it drive off (again) into the sunset.. preferably heading NORTH towards Denmark, and that I'd like to be there in such a situation.. ready with the needed cash, at least until another one shows up.. at a reasonable price, needing a good home, in white or black, or even other pleasant colors.. preferably with black buckets, I will probably jump right on, and love it.. :love10:

Stick around, I like brown cars and tan interiors more now than when I first joined the site. Have you picked out an old man hat yet???

Ha ha, I will Detmatt.. and I must admit, that I like them brown cars "a little".. but I like other colors a whole lot more.. ;-)

EDIT: I have a few hats, but none that would be suitable for a brown Imperial.. I would imagine this one would be good.. (I had to look through several pages of tweed hats before it came up)

I also know a 70 coupe........ but it,s brown and a crown. Black vinyl top.
( maybe the same Carsten told you.......).

Thanks Guys!

@ 69Monaco - Thanks.. but I don't remember seeing any brown one.

@ Carsten - This IS the same car.. he just added a considerable chunk to the price, without doing anything to it, and seeing it again brings back bad memories.

I was the high bidder on the ebay auction back in September.. and contacted NGD Cars shortly after auction end. I was unable to get a hold of Dave (the Colorado seller), but I was answered by his assistant Rachel.. with whom I negotiated a bottom price of 7500 US for the Imp. However, in the middle of our communication, Rachel left to attend some school. I got very worried, and wrote her several times asking if it was sold to someone else, despite my repeated attempts to arrange payment / pick-up..

When she finally came back, she replied to my most pressing question:

NgdcarsHey! I am back from school, thanks for asking! It is still available. Call David today to snap it up!

And so I did.. I called him numerous times a day, and left many messages and sent several emails.. When I finally got a hold of him about 5 days later, he surprisingly told me, that "the car was sold last week"..

Dave is a "fullsize car" enthusiast, and we had a long chat. He was very knowledgeable about fuselage Imperials, and pleasant to talk to. I tried to explain that despite his beef with Rachel (he told me she "messed up", and was no longer employed with NGD), I was first in the scene, and more important, I was the "right buyer" for the car, wanting to cherish and restore it to it's former glory.

He was reluctant to go with the deal made by Rachel, so I offered him 9500 which he also declined, despite me reading out loud, the communication I had with Rachel. Dave described "his buyer" as a just as enthusiastic as me... enthusiastic he was indeed, to flip the Imp for cash!

This may seem idiotic from my part, but I was SO close to make a 7500 deal, that I simply can't buy it now!

Am I stupid, or would you feel the same way?

Price in Danish kroner before:

49 055.8386 Danish kroner

Price in Danish kroner now:

118 398.809 Danish kroner

..and shipping from the UK, would probably be surprisingly close to the shipping price from the US !

PS: Anyone noticed my comment elsewhere, that now when I'm going away on holiday, 1970 Imp coupes start to show their chrome faces, and theres even still one day left before we leave, ha ha :-D

It is what I emailed you Kasper.
I was positive it is the same car.
At least you had a chance now to buy it.

I can understand your thoughts&reason for not buying it.

Even though I have to admit if I still feel something is "worth" a certain price to me then I pay it. Regardless of knowing someone is just flipping it.

There will be others showing up.
Maybe Martin can show you the brownie he found

Carsten

Good Luck Dude!!!!

Thanks a lot man !! I now find myself considering a bid, but the fact that the car is now in the UK goes against all my plans and intentions, and forking out double is not exactly attractive either!

Also, I would love to make a trip out of picking it up myself. :)
