Working on my 71 300

If you're going to take out the headliner as well, I'd consider Drilling out that whole sunroof "casette", at least that's what's called in German term and have it carefully sandblasted for example and put it back in. They usually look pretty ugly in the parts you have no Access to and start infecting your Roof sheetmetal again.

You gonna keep the whitewalls? You know, like it should have! :poke:
Yes no worries I'm keeping the white walls also, I have 3 sets road wheels an 2 sets cop wheels, I just like the look of those 275/60 in the back and
255/60 front maybe I put them on my
Fury wagon or my 71 Polara.

It had whitewalls before on the older pics.
Now it has black steel wheels with RWL tires

Many germans suck in that way.
They somehow believe that looks cool.
You know it Steve having a local german who likes to ruin cars with wrong wheels, too.

Well I think anyone who doesn't drive correct bias ply tires ruins them, too:poke:

Carsten
Carsten I still have the original white wall bias ply tires those are not good to drive on the highway at 140 and I think it's not safe to drive.
I know Germans like big wheels I'm sending an 1973 Imperial 2 door over
to Germany and the new owner is bugging me if I can measure the wheel house because he is planing to
put 11x20 on it ! I feel sorry for the car. The Imperial is also getting a new paint job in Germany and buddy is planning to install a super charger that's what I call Car Rape !!

I am glad the car found a good home. I was pretty close to buying that car along with my wagon.

Keep up the great work!

Dave
I'm working on it Dave,
when I seen the car it was not in good
condition Dave and it wasn't cheap but
I think it worth saving it and is a cool
Car .

Got some more work done to the roof takes a lot of time working on the driver side now and after I get the driver side done hopefully this week I'm going to take the front and rear glass out and clean the window frames
up.

How many miles on the burgandy car Tobias? Did the sun roof work when you got it? Are both your 71s non-a/c cars?

It must have been tough to sell your B9 blue 73 Imperial, especially when its fate is so unpleasant. :BangHead:

The car was the last time registered in 1976 and has 38tmls on it , the roof was not working when I got it took me a few days too open it up carefully.
The car was stored in a barn with a leaking roof for almost 30years.
Yes both 71s have no a/c.

The Imperial was not my Car I just picked it up for him, is a nice solid Imperial but is his business what he does with it. He has already 4-5 c body's and a few Cuda's and other stuff in Germany.

Yes Franky is a good guy Carsten, I know him since 1990 some times I have too simile he always likes to install the biggest and wides tires as possible on his cars.
He came over last year twice to visit me that was nice from him, I just don't always agree with his tuning ideas.
I think he likes the 71 New Yorker a lot, is a good thing that he is keeping the car original that's makes me happy.

A little bit more done at the 300, I also have the original sunroof motor working and a new sunroof switch.
The weather outside is not the best -30 Celsius and snow that's gives me a good reason to spend time in my garage after work.
