1971 Plymouth Sport Fury GT Brogham & U code Super Comando

You mean on GTs or All Cs? Mine is correct for 71 Polara/ Monaco. Which is why I need to be sure. Until today I never saw one located where Critters and Wolfens is

I have a number of 71 300s and a 71 Monaco that have the optional hood release, and they look identical in terms of the mounting bracket, but the actual handle is black plastic on the Monaco and chrome on the Chrysler/Imperial models. And they are mounted in the same place on the Monaco, but on Chrysler models, they were mounted a little further under the dash to not interfere with the a/c spot cooler bezel. With Chrysler, running changes were the norm so you might have an early build car that could have had a different setup. I checked my 73 Monaco, and it too has the same bracket as my 71s, but the handle (black plastic again) is oriented vertically instead of horizontally as in the 71s.
Also, the park brake release is normally protruding where the manual choke cable pull knob is located in Derek's GT, so someone moved the brake release on Derek's car.

1971 Sport fury GT stripes and GT graphics no longer available...
am having a few other sets made as well as mine...pm me for further info

GT trunk emblem no longer available....got mine through the good graces of a member here that happened to have one he never got to use ..thanx again Steve...

When I saw how great you were going to restore your car, I knew I had found the right guy to sell mine to, so you are very welcome Derek. I had bought it for my 71 SFGT, but I ended up selling it to a guy in Finland. His car had one that wasn't too bad and he wasn't going to do his car up quite as nice as Derek's, so I deferred until I saw the right candidate to sell it to.

Yes, even on New Yorkers, but standard on Imperials.

Standard - All

mine is a 69 but has the same basic dash frame, only without the holes :) i was just curious about the holes.

Hmmmmmmm? I have a number of Chryslers and Dodges that do not have an inside hood release. So why would a lower line Plymouth have it standard? Was there something about the grille that necessitated it? I don't have another 71 Fury since I sold the GT, so I don't have anything to compare to? Thanks for keeping me honest Stan!
p.s., the full size Dodge dealer brochure doesn't even mention the inside hood release as standard or optional (and the Dodge & Plymouth instrument panel are virtually identical), and the Chrysler/Imperial brochure doesn't mention it as standard or optional on the Chrysler models, but does mention it as a standard item on Imperials only. Some bean counter must not have been watching the ball when some Plymouth product planner threw it in as standard!

just a teaser..rest tomorrow...

Does that cassette player really work? If it did, that would be cool.
Am I seeing a small crack in that plastic lower trim panel? I would fix it now before it spreads. Nice overall though!
Looks like a good plastic paint color match to the original.

Crack....seen that to and belive is the edge of this panel..used far screw hole as refrence to leading edge of panel...cant see Paul missing that or letting it slide

in anycase will touch bases with him on it tommorow...belive rear end is done as well

He is working fast on this car! Does he do the work alone or does he have employees?

Been eyeballing that settup prettygood...never seen a dash settup like that but like it...Pauls always thinkin outa the box it seems..
Shurely makes it easyer to reassemble and test..like this idea

Here is a photo of the emblem Derek. The edge of the GT symbol is slightly raised and has a metallic texture to it, and that is why the photo seems to show some spots there. It is just the reflective part of the border, as the camera doesn't capture that so well. It is a perfect emblem.

The top one is my 70 300 and the bottom is my 53 Windsor.

They got brought in for final assembly. Mrs. Big John was tolerant of it only because it was winter time. I usually wait until she goes away for a few days to use the dishwasher to clean parts......

dish washer..to funny....can see all the members readin this stop and think about it for a min
