And so it begins

Its about time, there hasn't been a carburetor on a production car since the eighties, all most 30 years. There are kids that are born after the last carb rolled off a assembly line on here with us old farts. How interested do you think they are in a dying technology that they could not even see (always covered up and hidden secrets)
Very.

Well here is Erica with her Dodge. Unfortunately they have a EFI Chevie engine in it for the test. The team is fielding 2 Dodges for EE & Jeg Coughlin & 2 chevies for Drew Skillman & Vincent Nobile. I'm sure the Dodge engines just aren't ready. It was a lot of stuff to do & not much time. I'll see if I can find out when the Hemi's will be tested.

And here is the team. Or some of them. L to R Chassis tuner Rickey Jones, team owner Richard Freeman, driver Erica Enders-Stevens, crew chief & chassis builder Rick Jones, car cheif Mark Ingersol all of these guys have impressive resumes. No wonder they are 2 time defending champs. Missing is clutch man Robert Freeman. I have never been able to get a pic of him. Trey Wofford do you have a pic of him?

Now if NASCAR would wake up and smell the coffee, instead of trying to play denmother. Put them back in a car body, let them have traction control, antilock brakes (if they would want) ditch the carburetors and put them on port injection just like my wife's car has and maybe it would get interesting again, or continue turning it into a reality drama laden soap opera, now wonder women like it so much now. Rant over

I'm definitely glad to see Allen Johnson back this season, been my favorite pro stock driver since he first started in pro stock. I worked for Amoco when they first started sponsoring him, they brought the car to our plant in Texas City, Tx. a couple days before the Spring Nationals for all the employee's to meet him and see the car. They shot a video of him doing a Burnout inside the plant for a commercial.
Can't say that I'm thrilled about who his new sponsor is, sorry company in my opinion, but glad to see he has sponsorship.

Here is a pair of NHRA Mopar Hemi 06 Pro Stock cylinder heads. Guy is wanting $1800 for them which is a deal. The chambers have been machined, but the valves & rocker provisions have not & can be put modified to suite. These are nothing like the 426 Hemi heads

Like to see her and Jegie put a whoopin on the Summit cars. Hope they are ready.

Amazing how much emphasis is on making the chamber turbulent for gasoline engines but diesels and Nitromethane respond more to just adding more forced induction. Gasoline really does have its limits.

Me too. Greg was pretty darn quick in testing. We'll see. Next Sunday Winternationals. Pomona, California
I'm ready! Then I have to get the trans pulled in my Challenger for a new converter, I'm going to get that car in the 13s with those 3.23s if it kills me.

Well the Dodges didn't qualify very good. 5 Dodges qualified, but the highest is Jeg Coughlin at #8. And he has to run team mate Erica Enders in the first round. That not good. Those are the two strongest Dodges & have each other right off the bat. I briefly chatted with Robert Freeman last night & he acknowledged they had their work cut out for them , but said he was pleased with where they are at.

Since were talking about racing at Pomona....

Did you see Gary Densham crash in to the catch fence during Q3?
307 mph and no chutes. He's OK but he only had the one car and no money for another one. This may be the last pass that we'll ever see from a great racer!

Gary Densham parachutes fail to deploy in Pomona

Sorry Bob.....

I hope I didn't spoil it for you if you recorded it and was going to watch later.

Oh no. It's all good. I have been keeping up with Pro Stock from web sites. Just haven't seen much Funny car stuff. I have a customer comming over in a bit. Wants to cut a rocker panel off a Fury. It's 18 degrees out there LoL. I always try to lend a hand when people come over. So I will be out there again today working.
