3.23 742 suregrip rear..

I forgot to get the gasket for the 3rd member so it sits. The 3rd member looks real clean! Axles fit in and even has correct yoke. The little 3.23 tag came in so will be a nice little detail on it. Can't wait to finish it up. Took the opportunity to paint everything up.

In most cases ( pun intended) I just use a good silicone to bolt the pig into the axle housing.

Well wish I read this first. I used the gasket and sealant. Talked to Dr differentail and told me to adjust lash to .005 hope I got it right. Torqued the nuts to 35fp, was afraid to go higher and snap studs. I didn't have enough oil but had enough to turn the tires while on jack stands. Idled it in first gear didn't hear any unusual noises. Just need to top off the oil and take it for a ride. Super excited and it look so nice now.

Well rear all done. Took for a ride. I don't abuse the old girl but had to hit it on a side road to see how it do. Well left some great suregrip stripes and ruined 2 tires in the process. Still not what I would call quick, but definitely more lively! They guy that built my motor told me it needs better gears, guess he was right!
