The Beast of Turin

Beast is right! Wonder if you have to steer a bit to the left to overcome the push of the exhaust to the right? What a sight!

Some racing history from Fiat...

Wow on every level. What language was spoken? That appeared to be a very large displacement two stroke. No pipes just open exhaust ports. Chain drive and that speed, very motorcycle like. Thanks for that, it made my day for new old things to see.

Huge jugs.

I was just thinking ..."how many laps until the driver starts to feel the affects of CO poisoning?"... What a fabulous, purpose built automobile. Old touring cars and racers are just amazing to me... the shear size of the engine for so little output, the fact that they were so "hand made" and the wonderful engineering of their day... metallurgy and stuff like combustion chamber design or engine balance was still so far away from what even a novice engine builder today benefits from.
