The 86 600 convertible I test drove was squirrelly but neat. I had driven an 87 Daytona that a supervisor had owned, great car, handled excellent, great fuel economy with good acceleration. The 80's might have been a bad time for Chrysler in many people's eyes. I thought they had good interesting stuff.

Aside from the special interest cars I think the 90 s were worse

I have to disagree... there is very little from the 80's automotive wise that I find all that exciting. The 90's things started to get a lot better, both performance and build were seriously improved. Granted my perspective was often looking up at the floor pan... but I saw a lot of changes that truly excited me at the time. I had a customer bring in his brand new 93 Intrepid for inspection and I was floored. After working on cars for so many years that appeared to have the structural integrity of a cookie sheet... this car was stout. Want to say the number of 80's cars that would crush just a little at the factory lift points was a real concern in the rust belt... That car went a long way re-stoking my love for Chrysler... something they killed when the 98's came out.

Yeah I guess we will disagree. I see beauty in the K car .....and many of the 4 cylinder cars of the 80's that Chrysler put out. There was also plenty of rear wheelers that were still around

I don't hate them... I just accept them for what they really were. Cheap, basic cars without much sex appeal... I steered lots of customers toward a K purchase back then... they were still better than gm X and A bodies IMO and stayed easy to own for a long time... I even owned a 600 convertible for a couple years... cheap DD...

I was midly amused to see what they did each year to try and make the first Plymouth Reliant look like the last New Yorker Brougham. I STILL saw a Plymouth Reliant in the 92 Imperial.

And the mini vans when you looked at them from the bottom...

The 600 was like a mini Mirada

Mirada was a conventional RWD car. The boxy hard edged appearance was all it shared with the Aries/400/600/Dynasty, etc, etc, etc...

Found you an '84 'Page cream puff up in Portland, Or. on Craigslist Stan. 65K milez and ah 5 spd, win win(We know you still fantasize about grabbin' gearz). You do know also that these little truckletz are for real 1/2 ton haulerz don't you? Rated at 1155 tar haul weight. And no they won't quite hold a 4'X8' sheet of drywall or plywood but they will hold and haul your new 21 cu.ft. Fridge and I think we've reached the age where we can hang in ah chase lounge, do lip pullz on ah Salty Dawg and write the check when the work iz done, rite?

Nope. God says ½ ton pickups have frames and RWD at the mininum.
That thing is cute, but so aren't babies, and I don't want a baby.

HUMMM, The big guy told you that stuff 'bout pickupz did he? Betcha never climbed aboard ah Pan Head or Knuckle Head either didjah? Felt the wind pullin' at yer hairlike it waz pulled out and made yer whole head tingle? Caught bugz in yer teeth 'cuz you were smilin' so big? Had hold on crampz so bad you had to have some one else pull yer fists loose from the barz 'cuz you couldn't let go even after yeah stopped? We havtah talk here Commando. Seemz you've missed ah bunch ah stuff along the happy trail we all travel.

O.K. We agree on the old Pan Headz. My 1st waz ah '48 74. Looked for an 81 for yearz and never found one. Hard Tailz I could do without. You're sittin' there like ah monkey humpin' ah foot ball and it getz worse If you've got risers on the barz

Probably a very fair price ....I love these things
I totally agree. I loved mine too. maggot was its name.

Here is another rare bird. I was at a stop light and the car below was next to me exactly as pictured.

I thought there was a junkyard bounty on those to get them all crushed. I remember how fast the parts became unavailable... and the odd controls on the column breaking.
