Hey guys,

Need a little help with my 66 Newports headliner. I'm trying to remove the trim around the doors and it looks to be screwed in. Do I have to remove the outside gaskets to get to the screws. Is there a better way?

Thank you
Derek

Nothing is easy lol. The seals look, well like 50 year old seals lol. I think maybe I should replace them while I'm there lol

I will install a new headliner in my '66 Fury I. Are there any easy tips to doing this? Is it difficult to do by yourself?

No it went really easy, just take your time and work it out to the edges. There are 2 spring clip thingies that hold the rear bow towards the back, and you stretch it forward, work out to the outside of the car, cake!
I had to make sail panels out of luan, and i need to redo them because of wrinkles, but the headliner itself I am very happy with.
Search Youtube for Mopar headliner, that and the FSM helped me.

Thanks for the tips. What is the FSM? What are sail panels? I've learned how to do lots of great things from the YouTube videos. Invaluable reference place for just about anything you can think of. I need to make a net to help me haul things up into the attic area of my 2.5 car garage with the pulley system I designed and I will be looking on YouTube soon, which I know I will find how to do it there. Thanks.

Lots of questions can be easily answered. I realize that you are excited about your new acquisition, but...
Let me google that for you

Ohhh, ok. Field service manual. Is that the same as a shop manual? I should go find an original shop manual to tell me how to put the car together and take it apart, right?
