Hey guys I got a beat up old rusty monaco I picked up out of junkyard that I am building for racing in a bomber class on a 1/4 mile asphalt circle track. The rear end was rotted out so rebuilding and changing rear leaf mounts to run different leafs. Front is the question. I'm swapping front brakes master cylinder etc from a rotted out 72 new Yorker and was thinking of buying some nice drilled and slotted rotors for it and a quality pad for front. Rear brakes not sure yet if I will stay drum or not yet. Question I have is bushings. I'd like to get poly bushings for front end cause for race track self explanatory. Can I get a full front end kit for this car if not what will interchange. Brakes in this class can but upgraded but suspension has to look stock but nothing about bushings. Also planning to weld k member to body to stiffen it and tie in a cage. Car is getting stripped down to body and getting a mildly built 360. Question for now is bushings. If anyone else has any racing tid bits about possible other issues and fixes for brakes suspension or steering let me know too thx

With track I run usually you want a stiff front end lots of roll there and big bump my old 4 cyl race car I used to bottom out both front struts

Beefier torsion bars (I think Just Suspensions or PST may have these), a thicker anti-sway bar, a rear anti-sway bar, and polyurethane everywhere. Kits are available for C-bodies now, but anything not included in the kit can be fabricated using a chunk of poly, or existing bushings that are too large (you can grind/machine them down to size). I did my car almost a decade ago when kits were not available for these cars (if they were out there, I couldn't find them, so I did it on my own).

Here's a tip on leafspring bushigns:
Leaf Spring Bushings

Firmfeel's suspension parts are more expensive, but will be superior to PST. Swaybars especially!

For your 360, consider getting a 5.9, or at least putting Mag heads on the 360. Far superior in numerous ways. I've also read a few legitimate reports about mildly-cammed 5,2s matching the performance of mild 360s, but easier on fuel. We can discuss details further if you wish.
