I had my fender tag decoded for me on this form (thanks) and I was interested in some takes on the E85 engine in my 71 New Yorker . .it confirms a 350hp 440..but any where I look on line it appears that they only offered a 330 hp 440 or the TNT 370 hp high output 440 for 1971..yet when decoded it's states 350 hp for my 1971 440..knowledgeable opinions anyone?

In '71, the non-TNT 440 was rated at 335 HP. The last year for the 350 HP 440 was '70. Sounds like a simple typo to me.

My 71 300 2door sunroof has Engine Code E86 is it 375hp or 370hp ?

If it's a 300 with the TNT motor than it should have 370 hp if it's not a TNT..it will have 335 hp..not sure what the engine code is for a TNT..might be E86..go online to Mopar fender tag decoder. .

The decoder says 375hp for my car.

Not sure about the code, but damnit! You snatched her up did you? Lemme guess, no engine, steering yoke, or buckets? Can't be too many GB7 71 300 sunroof cars in Alberta. What are your plans for it, if I may ask?

In 1971 the compression ratio was lowered slightly from 9.7 for both the T and U code engines in 1970, rated at 350HP and 375HP respectively, to 8.8 on the T code engine resulting in 335HP and to 9.5 on the U code engine resulting in 370HP.

Yes that is the Car I fund the original Road Wheels and the Engine and Transmission and maybe the Front Seats also I will know it next week.
My Buddy knows the previous owner
and was Abel to help me to find the missing parts for the 300.

Wow! You were able to locate its original parts after being separated for so long? That's amazing! I suppose it was meant to be yours. Best wishes getting everything together.
