What am I looking at for a gallon of this in FP6 Frosted Teal Poly? Mainly, I want to see if anyone knows of any online retailers who may have it cheaper than the local shops here in Phoenix.

Alternatively, is someone would like to recommend a different brand, etc., I'm open to suggestions. Just needs to be able to mix to factory color code.

I'm no pro painter but I would stick to PPG only, they were the OE supplier and other brands have changed formulas. Napa or Martin Senior paints did have a nice match for my FT6 code that I used in the trunk and to protect some rusty areas in door jambs and it matched well, went back a few years later doing engine compartment and it was not the same color. I ended up using it as primer and touch ups in non seen areas and went and got a PPG paint supplier to mix it, back to matching.

While I'm certainly not trying to build a show car (it's a driver; I just want some decent paint on it), I don't want to waste all the work I've done stripping this thing down to bare metal cause it hasn't been easy. I'd like it to look pretty good.

I've heard some bad things about the lower line PPG stuff. I'd also rather not drop $500 on a gallon of paint either....

I have not had a problem with Omni line but it was for color change /stripes other dumb stuff and any bad results I had were prep and conditions related. I would not however put it on something I want to be really proud of. I only use the real PPG for what you are going to see and a base coat, clear coat on outside of the car because it is easy to sand and buff the orange peel, dry spots and bugs out. I also learned don't skimp on the clear, you get what you pay for on it also.

I'm going with SPI Universal Clear. I've heard really good things about it, especially for the price.

I just called a couple places here in Phoenix, and I'm looking at at least $560 for a gallon of the DBC. Seeing as this car is going to be a driver and get nicked, chipped, etc., I'm not entirely sure I want to drop that much. Very torn.

I haven't tried it yet ,but I am impressed with the SPI epoxy primer that I sprayed on my 67 Imperial
