But is it a legit original paint car?

Not likely. Almost 60 years old with no chips, scratches or dents? As shiny as it appears you would've thought the paint would be rubbed through after all these years of keeping it up. I guess it's possible but...

But is it a legit original paint car?

That is a very bold claim. The type of claim that would cause every interested buyer, to see it personally, to go over it with a high powered magnifying glass. One shot off the trunk with the sun in reflection doesn't seem to show any swirl marks. No way those could have been avoided back in the days especially since few would have thought "I need to protect the paint of this 59, in 1959, for selling it in the next century."

It would help to see the front of the car close up, where most of any chips would accumulate. I do see some chips in the open door photos in the sill area, but on the right side of the car, where the door is open I do think I see where there might be a tape line for a repaint. Having said that though, my 300F is pretty close to this car in every respect. But mine was driven mostly on the highway, and there are some small chips around the front of the hood and fenders only primarily. And mine is an original paint and chrome car for sure since I knew the original owner well and I am the second owner. Now with 29K miles.

I am a bit unsure about the Paint claim. They weren't that shiney when new.
But a personal Inspection will tell all.

Beautiful 59..... not to mention the Super Bird in the background. If his 57 Desoto convertible is in half as good a shape I'd love to see that!

That is a very sexy car... too much for my "play money" but would be a big win regardless of the paint's originality. That is just for the sake of pricing IMO... but no space, too much, no permission...

If I was a player, I think I would try to get him to throw in the sign, just for fun.

I would have my doubts about the car being original paint, but I suppose it's possible. It's a very nice car even if there's been some repainting.

Take a look at his other stuff on Ebay... $$$$$$.

At this point of the game I would be quite happy with any clean 59' Dodge, shiney or not. and One realizes it's only money. You can't take it with you!

If I were to have a 1959 Dodge, I would spend a little more and get a Polara instead of a 2 door sedan..............................
