starting the process of redoing the interior of the NYr. Gonna get fresh upholstery, clean up the wiring, restore the dash pad, get everything on the dash working, it'll be a long slow process but I'm ready to do this phase of it. I think.. Took some before photos and will try to update this as much as I can as often as I can get work done. I'll post the photos when I get them off my camera on the computer

Good luck. I started doing that very thing and next thing I knew, and several months later, I have the car stripped down to bare metal, the bumpers are at the chromers, etc. haha.

I have the same interior and am gearing up for a restoration as well (interior only right now) . My front seat has started to let go so I will be doing the seats first.

Are you going with original materials or changing it?

I'm changing it to a more durable fabric. Like to do vinyl or something but not sure yet. I emailed legendary interiors this morning waiting to hear back. Anyone have upholstery suggestion?

BigC keep me updated on your interior resto. Do you have a thread for it?
Not yet. I've been getting quotes together. I have found the guy who I'm going to let do the job. I was planning on having things started by now in hopes of being done by summer, but I had to replace my septic tail lines this week so that pushed me out a few months. I will be redoing mine as close to original as possible. SMS has all of my materials, for a price of course.

Knew I had a little crust on the passenger floor boards but kinda don't like what I found on the driver side either. I had thought the door seals were leaking, bought new seals going to put those on, but evidence looks like the windshield is the culprit. Rusty down the post and behind the vent kick panel so resetting the windshield might be in order.

While your windshield or windshield channel is the likely culprit (both my seal was bad AND there was rot thru in the channel due to the crappy seal), I'd also check into your heater core while you're at it. Mine was bad and leaking in addition to the windshield issues.

I don't see any signs of water in the heater core but I'll check it out a little closer next time I get a chance

Had high hopes to start prepping the interior and dealing with the rust on the roof, pillars, and floor this weekend with the sun finally out and a bit warmer than it had been, but I woke up Saturday morning with the return of the pinched nerve in my neck. In a way it wasn't a bad thing though because I needed to be there for my wife, whole nother story.. so all I managed to get done was drool over the radio conversion to Bluetooth and FM, talked to Gary Tayman about that, polished some trim, and trying to find someone to make the seat covers for it. I'll be putting in some time after work this week to address the rust. That's this weeks goal.

Pat, here is the SMS sample packet that was sent to me. The materials have a little sheen to them which seems to have blurred the scanned image a little.

2 days after work getting rust off the roof inside the car. Maybe 2-3 more and it'll be ready for primer.
