First Cars and Coffee of the year...

They started a new Cars and Coffee near me... Actually, restarted... The Covid nonsense got it stopped at the local park in 2020, not long after it had started, but some friends of mine got it restarted and the first was yesterday. I took the 300L and I didn't take any pics, but here's some...

727 trans pan gasket that doesn't leak??

Could be the pan too. I saw this the other day... (not my pic) and it's a Summit Chevy rear end cover. Note the bolt holes don't match.

727 trans pan gasket that doesn't leak??

Are you sure that's where it's leaking? Quite a few of the trans gasket leaks are actually leaks from the transmission shift seal and throttle link seal. That's a bit dependent on the year... Earlier transmissions with the cable shift don't have that shifter seal, but they still have the...

    Carb fuel line connector

You have to work at getting a flare nut wrench to slip. By any chance were you using a metric sized wrench? That said, once you start rounding off the nut, the vise grips become your tool of choice.

I think $2500 is a good number for this one.

NOT MINE 1973 Chrysler Newport 2dr - $3,500 (York) PA

Definitely savable. In fact, I think I could make a pretty good argument for fixing what's there with some fresh steel. The torsion bar section forward doesn't look too bad and really that's just the body mount. Of course, the right way would be to replace the stub frame.

    Carb fuel line connector

It's a right hand thread. Put the proper wrench on the fitting in the carb (7/8"?) and a flare nut wrench on the tube and it will loosen.

    Rod Cap Reinstall Alignment

Tang to tang. The rod numbers are also both on the same side. Were the rods were numbered and did you put them back in the right spot??? If there's an issue, you stop before you do any damage. Rod caps should never be hard to install.

If he was a member, and gave the VIN on his club application/renewal, then yes, they would probably have it listed. As I said, they really don't make that stuff real public. I'm sure it's updated as new members with cars come in. Since I participate in their email list server, there are often...
