    69 Chrysler brake booster question

I don't know about the newer parts swap compatibility, could possibly work? That is the small diameter, dual diaphragm booster that came with the car originally, quite sought after for its size and performance. I would have it rebuilt and reinstall. That's not exactly cheap, but it will save you...

1970 Fury HP Exhaust Manifolds Burn Valve Cover Paint

The factory didn't use primer or clearcoat. I think rustoleum has a high heat primer, but I've never seen a high heat clear.

Does a tightly shaking vacuum gauge REALLY mean an ignition problem? Chasing my tail.

Running Mopar electronic ignition? I once had pretty much the exact problem. Turns out the distributor shaft had a slight bend in it, which caused the vac needle to shake, and would kind of mis fire around 1500-2000 rpm range when in park, it wasn't really noticable when driving. And that was a...

1970 Fury HP Exhaust Manifolds Burn Valve Cover Paint

I'm going to throw a theory out here. You mentioned you have your crossovers blocked, could this have contributed to extra heat staying in the heads, closer to the exhaust ports rather than being distributed a little more evenly throughout the entire head? Here's my '70 440, car originally was...

    Mystery brake issue.

So everything is working properly, your concern is the pedal not completely going to the floor? And seemingly less fluid motion to the rear? Was the master cylinder or power booster changed? Sounds like the pushrod may not be properly adjusted. You could try loosening the nuts that hold the...

1970 Fury HP Exhaust Manifolds Burn Valve Cover Paint

No, there were no gaskets from the factory. I believe this is the nature of the HP manifolds, and why someone stepped up and made a product to help. I wonder if these new ceramic coatings would help keep temperature a bit lower, possibly enough to prevent this?

1970 Fury HP Exhaust Manifolds Burn Valve Cover Paint

I believe it's fel-pro that makes exhaust gaskets that have a large rectangular tab that sticks up in that area to prevent this from happening.

    Nice pick up

That would be fairly "easy" compared to what I see with this car and the one Big_John posted, which has an open door picture. That picture makes it look like it's not a huge hinderence to get in and out. But that door is definitely shorter than a four door cars door. Look at how close the mirror...

    Nice pick up

I would imagine very few. The work involved in shortening the door's and lengthening the quarter's is quite involved. This car looks great in midnight blue. It was however made for the rear passengers comfort, not the drivers. I'm a skinny guy, but those door's would require some thought out...

Heater core leak on my new carpet

I would start with water and a wet/dry vac. The stain is likely fine lime scale from the copper corroding so if the water fails to get it out, I would try some diluted CLR promptly vacuumed out and neutralized with water once or twice.

NOT MINE 1971 Imperial LeBaron 4dr on eBay

The Imperialists got me there. I was aware of the windshield antenna in '71, just didn't put one and one together. The power antenna sitting flush on the Imperials is news to me, and the reasoning makes sense.

NOT MINE 1971 Imperial LeBaron 4dr on eBay

The factory power antenna doesn't retract all the way down, it stays up about 8-12 inches. It's also thicker than this one and has a stainless bead at the top, where as this one is black.

Old but useful painting trick ..

Looks great! That technique is basically the same as ye olde "lace" custom paint embellishment, typically seen on lowriders.

NOT MINE 1971 Imperial LeBaron 4dr on eBay

No, and no. Factory power antenna would be on front passenger side fender and is a different style, but similar to this one.

Cleaning up aluminum wheels (not Mopar)

No easy fix for that. That's corrosion on the aluminum surface where the clearcoat wore off. Cheap way, "quick" fix would be to strip clear coat and paint off, gently smooth down and paint silver or gun metal. Most cities will have a shop or two that specializes in wheel repair. They can throw...

    My neighbor ruined my plans

Lets hope for the best. Those 4 door hardtop pillars are incredibly sturdy, it might need a tweek once the door is off.

    My neighbor ruined my plans

Damn, I feel for you. I'm really sorry to see and read what's happened to your very nice original car. That's 100% on the driver. With that much weight he wouldn't have to be going very fast at all, but why even get so close? Forget about cameras, they've only been around for a decade or so...

    1970 Plymouth Fury Dash Pad

Looking at your interior, that appears to be the only faux wood panel. I think it would look best without it, but that's just my opinion. Do you know how it's held on? If it's just two way tape it could be added anytime. I have a feeling there maybe a couple of holes for studs. My '71 Monaco...

Logo eagle and trims on bucket seats

A good upholsterer should be able to fix that cover up as long as you're ok with it looking not 100% stock. The beading is shot, so most of the stitching will need to be cut and the beading replaced with new beading. The missing chunk could have a new small strip of beading that creates a...
