I would pull a plug that was installed by the "Carb Guy" to see what you have in there. Can you post a picture of the old plugs and new ones? You won't be messing with anything and it's a matter of pulling a plug, taking a picture and re-installing it,....just in case he installed the same plugs...

FanFish, did you ever check to see what plugs you're running,..number brand? What is the outcome? The LA 318 takes a long reach,.so make sure the parts house gave you the right plugs. Picture of the installed plugs would help. I wouldn't run the motor until you're sure.

Yes in a "conventional" 383 and I should have asked if his 383 had electronic ignition. Actually running J10Y's or AR32's in a BB with newer electronic ignition help the old cold plugs work ever better and don't forget--Cold Plugs Mean Hotter Performance! Just my 2 cents.

By looking at the picture of the wheels, it looks like the washer sits in a groove for different lug patterns. The wheels are uni-lug?? Before ordering the washers, make sure they are center or offset. Pull a wheel on your car and put a new wheel on and see if the stud is center in the hole...

Scotty is right. Look at this picture or the video I posted on page 2 of this thread.

It's just a check valve. Go to your local parts house and get a standard replacement and pop it in. Or...., file off the notches flush with the housing and use a small amount of black silicone to hold it in the grommet.
