    GJS's 1967 Dodge Monaco 500: Beverly

If I remember your sequence of posts, you were aware of the rear window from the beginning, so hopefully the extent of the rust is not too much of a surprise. I'll have to find the thread on the Monaco. Not my cup of tea either, but fabrication skills are better than mine. What I see is the...

    GJS's 1967 Dodge Monaco 500: Beverly

I have similar issues with the rear channel, which had a driver quality repair years ago. I sort of postponed a proper major repair and vinyl roof removal by running a bead of butyl below the chrome. I saw pictures of yours at the beginning of the thread, you may be slightly worse off than me...

    GJS's 1967 Dodge Monaco 500: Beverly

Hello GJS, I haven't posted in a while, but have been following this thread, you project is coming along. The car looks real solid. My car is not too bad but with the back seat out I could see the 500 trim from the inside. The wide trim holds surprises, but I don't think it's a problem for...

Calling all ‘68 owners, tire pressure decal pics please

Data tag for the blue 68 posted above. It is a Windsor car, they seemed to stamp the tags a little different, less info.

68 Dodge Monaco replacement rad question

Thanks for the help folks. The listing is from Rock Auto and apparently shows the rad incorrectly for a 68 Monaco 318. Oddly it does not list it for a 68 Polara 318. It looks like the 22" is not being reproduced, re-coring may be the best if not only option

68 Dodge Monaco replacement rad question

I'm looking at replacing the rad in my 68 Monaco hoping to have it look somewhat original. The replacement rad (CU332) has the inlet on the right side where the original has the inlet in the centre. The car is a 318 and it seems like they list the same rad for both big and small block engines. I...

Thanks Fratzog. The colour combo is almost as nice as certian 440 car in Grimsby Ont.

    GJS's 1967 Dodge Monaco 500: Beverly

Here is a picture of my Monaco 500 with original 14" wheels and covers. 15" would fill the wheel wells a little better, but for me it's a bit of nostalgia, it's my dad's old car and I remember the car with the original covers. I will probably will get flamed for the comment, but with cars this...

Fender or Data Tag Decoding question

Furyman, you nailed down the VIN correctly, it is actually DP23F8R329252. What significance does 328 or 329 have to the production date at the start of the year though? I know my dad purchased the car in July of 68. The rear ratio sounds correct, I know he bragged about 20 mpg on the highway...

Fender or Data Tag Decoding question

Thanks for the nice comments folks. The car was used as a regular driver for about 10 years but had grease and graphite undercoating annually. That and garage kept is what probably saved it. To say it is unrestored may be a bit of an exaggeration, About 20 years ago the engine was pulled...

Fender or Data Tag Decoding question

Okay Detmatt, I'll post a couple pictures taken just a couple days ago. Very similar to pictures I posted when I joined though, I think you were one to welcome me to the board. Car is a survivor, not restored. Mostly original paint, but the pictures make the paint appear better than it actually...

Fender or Data Tag Decoding question

Thanks for the info mdh157, The Vin is DP23F8Rxxxxxx I didn't know the premium code of P 2nd digit indicated Monaco 500, M Monaco, and L Polara. Engine code 5th digit is actually F, Lower level LA 318, and assembled in Windsor, code R.

Fender or Data Tag Decoding question

I'm looking for some confirmation on fender tag decoding from the experts. The car is a 1968 Monaco 500 which my dad had purchased new. The few online decoders I used list it as a Polara, perhaps because it is a Canadian 318 car? The other question I have is the dealer stock code. I remember...
