    Who Rebuilds Heater/AC Controls?

These people seem to be exactly what I need- restoring everything between the front doors! Already sent a query. Who should I say sent me? Thank goodness for this C-body forum. Without it, I would be lost on my restorations.

    Who Rebuilds Heater/AC Controls?

Yep, about $900 I think to redo my dash panel- and that is not even including the speedometer! But boy do they do a fine job. Looks like it just came out of the factory. Did not know they did heater/AC controls as well.

    Who Rebuilds Heater/AC Controls?

I have used Instrument Specialties in Rhode Island also. They are super. But they have taken almost a year and still don't have the dash back I sent them. They are SO slow I am hesitant to send them more work.

    Who Rebuilds Heater/AC Controls?

How does that ever go bad? The only thing I see that could need doing is new chrome plating

    Who Rebuilds Heater/AC Controls?

Thanks. Found a firm called OriginalAir.com that seems like they rebuild and rejuenate everything. Might as well redo the plenum box and evaporator while I am in there. Sure don't want to have to go into the dash again. Now those cracked female electrical connectors that plug into the controls...

    Who Rebuilds Heater/AC Controls?

Removed the dash Heat-A/C control in my 1972 Newport today. Several things are broken- the fan switch, the vaccuum switches, and the A/C signal wire connector is cracked. Sure would like the lettering on the plastic panel recoated with silver anew. Is there any restoration shop that does a...

Boy is that a beautiful engine compartment! But what Mopar engines were painted red?

Ethylene Glycol or the new "Permanent" anitfreezes for our Original Mopars?

Must resurrect this thread. I had bought 3 jugs of Prestone "Dex-Cool." It has an orange cap, BUT the ingredients say a mix of Ethylene Glycol and Diethylene Glycol + rust inhibitors. It warns of being poison and does not include Methylene Glycol. Should I return this and get a straight...

Ethylene Glycol or the new "Permanent" anitfreezes for our Original Mopars?

Haven't seen this "long life ethylene glycol." What is the added ingredient to make it last longer? And isn't it possible to add more corrosion inhibitor (a different product) and extend the life of the antifreeze?

Ethylene Glycol or the new "Permanent" anitfreezes for our Original Mopars?

Both my Newport and Fury have OEM-style radiators, ablbeit recored. I have got to flush and drain, and am wondering if the old Ethylene glycol antifreezes are still best. My new Corolla takes the newer pink antifreeze, which is supposed not to need periodic replacement. But new cars have...

Anyone got a favorite electric fan kit for C-body radiators?

Thanks WelderGuy for this great info! I, too, have had overheating problems in stop and go traffic in the summer, whether A/C is on or not! It is surprising it works well for you since it looks like the shroud only covers about 3/4 of your radiator surface. Your radiator looks like an aluminum...

Anyone got a favorite electric fan kit for C-body radiators?

The more I think about it, the more I think a conventional engine fan is a power sucker, especially when driving in cold winter months. I would like to take the clutch engine fan off my 1972 Newport and fit an electric fan rig on the radiator. The car has A/C. Haven't seen any fan conversion...

Who has upgraded from RV-2 to Sanden?

I had my trusty A/C shop do it for my 72 Newport and have been happy. Cools just as well. Good riddance to that troublesome V-2 compressor that was hard on belts. Had to use a different length of belts, though- and remember what size they are. Receiver drier always has to be changed in a...

Was 7 blade fan standard or optional?

My 1972 Newport with a 400 and 1965 Fury III with a 383 both had 7 blade fans. Both threw blades and all I could find was 6 blade replacements.... until I FINALLY found one on E-Bay the other day. Was the 7 blade part of a trailer-towing or hot weather option? Why are these so hard to find?
