Ugh, need turn signal cam help 68 newport

Cornering lights are located on the fender in front of the front wheel, just below the body contour line. They shine steady on whenever the T.S. are actuated, thus shedding light on the "corner" when turning. The main difference in T.S. switches is fixed column vs Tilt-O-Scope column, two...

    probably need a distributor...recommendations?

Unless I missed it, I don't see any mention of the condition of the engine harness. Is it original/unaltered? Have you physically inspected every wire for continuity/wear/defects? All grounds good? A now 52ish year old wiring harness has seen a lot of temperature cycling, and...

    Wiring woes

The headlight switch has an internal circuit breaker as a safety device. Too much resistance in the circuit trips the breaker. If it is compromised/worn, you lose the headlights. My black 2DHT had this issue. Sometimes the headlights would just shut off while driving. If I played with the...

1967 Chrysler Newport Custom lighting questions.

Spend $30 and get this: 1967 Chrysler Color Wiring Diagram The larger one is better because it is all on one side. The smaller one is split on two sides. 1. Try changing the flasher first. Well actually check that all bulbs are good first. As flashers age, they tend to speed up until steady...

    Starting problems

FWIW, I had a similar issue with my black 2DHT. It turned out to be the ammeter. After I removed/replaced, I checked continuity on the ammeter posts-nothing. A twist with a pair of pliers on the posts regained continuity. Hope the input helps. John

Dome/Map Light Circuit. Can anyone explain how it works? Diagram?

FWIW, none of my '67 Newps have an ignition buzzer, nor does a buzzer circuit show up in any diagrams.. My speculation is buzzers showed up in '69 or '70 when the ignition switch moved to the column? John

Dome/Map Light Circuit. Can anyone explain how it works? Diagram?

Spend $30 on this: 1968 Chrysler Color Wiring Diagram Between it and the FSM, you will eliminate most of the grey area. The map light switch could be dirty/worn/compromised. Try jiggling the switch a bunch of different ways during actuation to see if it has any effect. My approach to...

    No power

FWIW, I had a similar issue with my black 2DHT. Started and ran fine most of the time. Then started to stall randomly, nothing at key, etc. In the end it was the posts on the ammeter itself. There was intermittent continuity between them. I took a pair of needlenose pliers and twisted on both...

    68 Fury directionals

Sorry Bob, I replied too fast. I was thinking of my Crown Vics which have twist in sockets. And the Newps have the signals in the bezel above the cluster. So other than confusing you with a bunch of wasted key strokes, I got nothing. John
