    Heaterbox restoration

A good radiator shop can pressure test and or repair your heater core if needed.

    Engine ground question

The factory maybe didn't scrape any paint off but they didn't put much more than one coat of paint on either. There must have been some grounding problems with the older cars since the newer ones have designated ground studs. I don't necessarily scrape any paint unless my ohm meter tells me my...

    Engine ground question

IMO, it is way more important that it is there and functions than if it is factory installed unless of course you are into concourse judging. I've never been too concerned about correctness since most of us add our own finger print anyway such as electronic ignition, different wheels, bigger...

    Quits when it gets hot…

Did you check resistance on your ECU? I bet it is high.

    Quits when it gets hot…

It sounds like it was a recent install. It may be a waste of money if it was only the grounding problem.

    Quits when it gets hot…

It is a place to start and it's a free fix if that is the problem. If not it could also be a weak pick-up coil in the distributor like Big John mentioned.

    Quits when it gets hot…

The first thing I would do is grab my Ohm meter and test between the neg post of the battery and the case of the ECU. If more than .5 ohms, clean off the paint under the mounting screws. If the case is not properly grounded they get hot and open the coil in the unit. Closes back up when cooled...

Don't recall ever seeing a Fusey. What makes them different from a Fury?

    How to service A/C?

Probably a better plan than what the AC shops would do. Most would replace the shaft seal & drier, maybe the expansion valve. Vacuum and refill with freon and dye.

Question on towing a C Body

I think we all get to blame that guy once in a while. Good thing he is here for us.

Question on towing a C Body

I guess you didn't read my post. It is a 68 Charger with a 69 Grille and 69 bumper guards.

Question on towing a C Body

What an equalizer hitch does when properly installed is share the weight between the rear axle of the tow vehicle and the front axle of the trailer. In effect, it takes up the sag caused by the weight on the tongue of the trailer and distributes it throughout the combination. Makes for a much...

Question on towing a C Body

Not sure about anyone else but I have always used my class 3 equalizer hitch when towing any full sized vehicle on my trailer. It takes care of any problems with front or rear heavy loaded cars or trucks. I have hauled C body cars and a couple of Club Cab pickups with no tense moments. I have...

whats the right fuel sending unit - 5/16 or 3/8 " pick up ?

I have no idea what was or was not used for fuel lines in C bodies. My experience lies with the B body cars. Namely Chargers. Back in 1968 I bought a new Charger R/T 4 speed car. My brother had a 383 4 speed car that had trouble with vapor locking on hot days. One of the guys at the track said...

whats the right fuel sending unit - 5/16 or 3/8 " pick up ?

Do you have a 1/4" return line going back to the tank? From my experience, the 383 cars had the 5/16 pickup with no return. Most 440 cars use the 3/8 pickup and had a 1/4" return. At least in the B body cars, not sure about the C's
