That Chrysler That May Or May Not Be Finished Some Day.

Short story on this long car. Bought this beast around 8-10 yrs ago. Being such a big, heavy, unique car, I've definitely had my moments of questioning my own motives. Many things I've changed and many things have stayed the same (thus far).

General Information

I mainly just love old cars in general. Something has drawn me to the mopar like im sure everyone else here. I drove this car around for years just as I bought it. A client of mine owned a car lot and I saw it advertised in the paper one day. When I went to see it it was parked behind the lot under a tree. It was dirty as hell but in great condition I could tell. The car once belonged to the mechanic of the car lot and he did a few things to bring it back to life. My wife was with me and said "you like this"? Haha. Well after a test drive up the hiway and around the block, I bought it and headed straight for the car wash. Once she was cleaned off and that nice paint job it came with was shining a bit it was nothing but thumbs up on the road from young dudes and old alike. Yes my wife came around after a few cruises as well. After years of telling myself I would keep this thing as stock as possible (push button trans and all) I started to feel the need to go faster. But this is a huge car haha. It's been a process for sure but here's a list of things I've done to it off the top of my head. All it took was a trans shop that hadn't seen a push button trans before to goof up the smooth shifter I once had in the process of a tune up. This headache led me to a buddy out of town that works on the mechanics of transmissions. He took the guts ( looked pretty good inside) of my 64 case and put them in an updated 67+ case because the oldy was apparently riddled with helicoils and stripped holes. This also led to a salvage yard driveshaft cut and balanced to proper length. B&m sport shifter installed as well. I decided it was time to go on a summit racing binge so myself and a friend pulled the motor in preparations for some shiny new parts. While the motor is out my buddy pulls it apart and determines things are surprisingly good on the inside. Nothing is replaced on the inside other than main bearings and rod bearings and rear seal ( wish now I woulda put a bit hotter cam and lifters). On the outside I went with edelbrock rpm heads-already had performer intake (rpm going on soon)-eddy 1406 600cfm-msd 6al and distributer with all msd fixins-summit mini starter-tuff stuff 1 wire alt-reseal original power steering-cvr aluminum water pump housing with miloden high flow pump-eddy timing chain set-ditched the heater-upgraded original radiator to 3 cores and added shrouded electric fans-discs on front for brakes-dual res Master cyl-reconditioned booster by booster Dewey-steer and gear updated firm feel steering gear-eddy mechanic. Fuel pump/ lines-optima red top- summit harm. Balancer-Sanderson dd2 huggers with 2.5" exhaust into flowmasters-and probably some stuff I missed haha.
