    Default Hard Packed...

This may sound like a stupid question but when I was working under my '71 I noticed that my front subframe is packed full of sand and gravel from the previous owner driving on gravel roads. It is really hard packed in there like concrete. I don't know how I'm going to get it out. I'm wondering if I should shove a metal rod in there to loosen it,try to blow it out with an air hose or suck it out with a shop vac? I would like to get it out because it atracts moisture and will cause rust. What do you guys think? Anyone else have this problem?

Do whatever you can to get it out of there. I have taped a bendable piece of copper tubing to the end of my shopvac hose, yet another use for duct tape.

I agree, do what ever it takes, even if it means a power washer to the car and a shower for you.
