OK guys, when I bought this car my plan was to do what I had to to make a driver out of it. As it turns out it really needs a restoration which I'm not going to do to it at this time. I knew it had been sitting for some time but I didn't know that time was probably over 20 years. I got it running off a remote gas tank and the motor sounds like it should with only 61000 miles on it. Problem is it's getting compression in the radiator which I assume is a bad head gasket. That's probably the reason it was parked at 61,000 miles all those years ago. It looks as though it was stored inside all these years but under a swamp cooler so it has surface rust in spots and under the hood. Trunk floor is scaly with a few pinholes on the left side. Interior needs carpet and headliner for sure and has a couple of small tears in the seats. It is a 318 car with A/C and disc brakes. Car is very unmolested and complete. Only thing missing is the right side rocker molding. I will let it go to a member here for the $1700 I've got in it. It has a good Arizona title. If no takers we'll see what e bay will do. Anyone interested can PM me here.

Does it come with the road wheels in the pictures?:poke:

I would love something like that as a DD... but I just can't do it right now... too much going on as it is.

They would only come with it if you buy the trailer too!

Here are the pictures of the underside. There is surface rust due to the damp conditions it was stored in but everything looks solid. Floors are good and trunk floor just has some pinholes. The best thing about this car is it is totally unmolested. Nothing has been changed or butchered.

How is it that the tag is that rusted yet the tank is so clean? Didn't even notice the bias plys until the undercarriage shots, when's the last time that old girl was on the road? Also what's the mileage?

Looks like a very clean car.

Question: Chris what is your guess on the random rust on the body? Areas that are hit by the rust are maybe thinner paint areas?

Or maybe some scratches, nicks and chips that let it get to the metal and start?

I'm not sure what the deal is on the rust. I believe it's been stored in Arizona for a long time. It's obviously been inside most of the time. Here in Arizona we use swamp coolers (AKA evaporative coolers) for cooling. They work well in the low humidity but they work by pumping water over pads and do add a lot of moisture to the air. I think this car must have sat right under a swamp cooler for years. That's the only way I can think of for it to happen like this. A shop I worked at had large coolers right over the machine shop area and we were constantly cleaning rust off the machinery.

I still think that would clean up to make a very nice daily driver, mileage with those 318's on the highway is about 20mpg and those engines cruise VERY well.

It wouldn't be worth it for me to have the car shipped to NJ but I would definitely be interested in some parts should you decide to parcel her out. I'm looking for interior seats, windshield, front corner pieces left and right, front and rear valances, taillights and rear corner pieces both left and right. Otherwise best of luck selling her, she deserves saving.

I will only part this out as a last resort. I'm going to give it whatever time it takes to sell it whole because it's defiantly not a parts car.
