68 Chrysler Newport

replaced flasher. turn signals will not work when other assessories are on.
Is this without engine running?
Or just at idle?
Check output of alternator and load test the battery.
I had an alternator put out 12.5 volts but at 2000rpm it was doing 4 outvof 45 amps of charge.
As long as I ran the car with nothing on, it charges. But at 4AMPS even at 12.5 volts when running anything the alternator could not charge the battery fast enough.
Your turn signals will not work when the battery is weak and all acceaories are on.
Replace the old voltage regulator with an electronic one.
Check and clean all connections at the bulkhead connector at the firewall.
finally do the ammeter bypass.
Underhood Ammeter Bypass
Hope this helps.

@cbarge and @GOLDMYN - There are slightly more details in this thread. 68 chrysler newport turn signal problem.

It appears, based on the other thread, that the problem is the accessories and turn signals work when the engine isn't running, but don't work when the engine is running.

My bet is the ignition switch...

@68bannaboat A little constructive criticism... Stay with one thread to keep confusion to a minimum. That will help us help you.
