Well, the 440 swap has hit another snag in my New Yorker. Before we yanked the old motor out, everything worked. Now, we have the 440 in with a new electrical ignition and can not get spark or power to the coil. Also, as soon as the battery is connected, the dome light and drivers side parking light comes on. Everything was marked before the swap and put back where it was supposed to be. We are completely stumped as to what it could be. Any help on what to look for or replace would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a power to ground problem but someone here will be able to help. Might need more info like what was the previous setup and what are the particulars of the new engine swap. Nice looking 440 BTW.

The previous setup was a 361 that someone slapped in it and a points distributor. The "new" 440 is out of a 76 New Yorker and we put the new electronic distributor in it from Jegs.

Black wire with yellow stripe goes to negative side of coil and ignition on 12volts for the green with red stripe.
