Closest thing to that for me was a hopped up stick shift Omni. I swore off FWD for 40 years after that. It was very traumatic.
And I'm still scared of them...

I tried one on once. Trying to get out of it was the most traumatic thing I've encountered in a car.

The neon based SRT4 had a good following and I think did a good job with the young people buying a lower model and aspiring to the SRT4.
But Dr Z and his cohorts decided the small car needed to be more practical and this is the HP version of that. The reason it's rare is nobody wanted them and.......
THAT ......... is one butt ugly vehicle

did they use Getrags or were they MB transmissions?
I don't really know. It was a 4 speed with overdrive. I think they were well known to blow apart, and since I routinely put 200,000+ on my vehicles I was well aware of the consequences. No matter now, I don't need mini-vans any longer.
:D

The funny thing was the Caliber was suppose to be the replacement for the Neon.

Alan

Caliber, Neon=SRT4
Crossfire=SRT6
Magnum, Charger, 300=SRT8
Viper=SRT10

I'd probably take any one of them, just to screw around with. The Neon guys loved theirs, beating expensive cars while chewing up tires.
