Buck up lights wiring question

Also, I would suggest using the continuity setting on the meter, if you have it. Looks like this:

Ok update….
I got the new NSS wired up.
Adjusted my cable shifter and now have .07 Ohms at the NSS.
Plugged NSS in and checked reverse lights for power with a test light.
I have power to the light socket, with car in reverse.
Install several NEW light bulbs, and the light bulbs won’t light up.
What could be the issue?

That narrows it down quite a bit. If you get power all the way at the rear but no lights you have a bad ground. So check ground connections at the sockets

I would bet on bad ground too.
Dumb question, but how do you recommend I get a “good” ground to each light, without running a “pigtail” from them, to a ground source?
Aren’t they supposed to be grounded through the light socket?

They are supposed to be grounded through the socket, but lots of things happen to old cars. Try grounding the housing first, then try the socket. Once you know, then come up with a permanent solution
