And it's not because we are stopping production. The idiots in Ottawa have slapped a "Luxury Tax" on any vehicle over $100000. This will affect just about every Heavy Duty Truck we sell, most of the loaded 1500's, SRT Cars/Suv's and the new Wagoneers. The communists running the country into the ground need to find other peoples money somehow. Get your trucks now my friends or pay a 20% Luxury Tax after Jan 1.

Sell one to me for $94,900 and then sell me a bunch of "accessories".

The cheap ones.
And you guys actually use them and **gasp** throw tools and wood and cement in the back?? Wow, another reason to buy used and learn how to fix them yourself. The last new vehicle I bought was the '98 mini-van and I think loaded it was $28K.

Not quite: "either 10% of the purchase price, or 20% of the amount by which the purchase price exceeds the luxury threshold"

“It gives the purchaser a choice: they can pay 10% of the full value, or they can pay 20% on the amount of excess over $100,000,” said Joseph Micallef, partner and national leader, financial services, with KPMG in Canada.

To be clear, I am not opining on whether the new tax is good or bad policy and/or politics: all I am saying is that I somehow doubt that anyone who can fork out $100k for a car/truck is gonna care much about that extra amount.

Actually @ayilar this will hurt our Farmers and Oil Field workers the hardest. They are the ones who need trucks like these to do their work. I get it on things like Planes and high end Boats sure tax that guy but taxing the everyday Joe who needs a 3500 to pull his ditch witch from job to job just isn't right as far as I am concerned. This is a sign of things to come from our leftist spendaholics in charge and we have no one to blame but ourselves. Glad I don't sell Land Rovers...

Unless I am reading incorrectly, farmers and construction (which I presume should include oil field workers) should be exempt from the tax -- see the red highlight below:

Q&A: Canada’s new luxury goods tax
  • Luxury vehicles - All new (manufactured after 2018) passenger vehicles typically suitable for personal use including coupes, sedans, station wagons, sports cars, passenger vans, and minivans equipped to accommodate less than 10 passengers, SUVs, and passenger pick-up trucks would be considered luxury vehicles for purposes of the new tax. Motorcycles and certain off-road vehicles, such as all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles, racing cars (i.e., vehicles that are not street legal and are owned solely for on-track or off-road racing), and motor homes are not considered to be caught by the scope of the luxury tax. Similarly, ambulances, construction, and farm vehicles would also fall outside the scope of the tax.
Again, I am not arguing about whether this new tax is good or bad. All I am trying to do is to be sure I have my facts right before making up my mind.

Seriously, in the US you are still looking at $60k for a nicely equipped 2022. What ever happened to the basic two door, 8 ft bed, RWD? Not sure I need a Cadillac to haul mulch.

I'll keep driving my old 84/93 1st Gen cummins W350 Crewcab....

It can do everything those big fancy new trucks can do, without a luxury tax, and a huge truck payment every month....;)
