Dear C-bodies Friends... I have technical question to you. Have anyone ever seen the seat belts clips mounted on top of the console in 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT? Was that factory option available in 1970 SFGT? I know these clips were available in 69 and 71 Sport Furys with buckets and center console. All replies, pics etc. will be appreciated... Thank you in advance. Sebastian

Sébastien and I have been chatting about those for some time. I've personally never seen any 70s that had a console have those clips. I've seen a few 69s but they screw from the top like B body's. Almost every 71 Fury I've seen with a console has them but they bolt from bottom so no screw holes seen.

I owned a 70 that had those clips.
It was an Aug 69 build, maybe that plays a role that it was a 69 holdover thing?

It looks kinda odd from a 21st century perspective - was it meant to be a storage location? Like “Here’s where you can clip your belt and keep it out of the way if you want, in case you don’t like seat belts”?? It appears to have 0 structural capacity, like it would break off after about 100-500 cycles of use. Just seems…strange.

Sure. That would be no problem. But you'd need the metal part of the buckle and a way to secure it to the plastic.
Metal, really? Interesting. I don’t own one so I don’t know. What part is metal? They look like 100% molded ABS plastic to me.

Here is an all plastic 3D printed version although I dont think they are for the console top. Seems to me you could make metal ones from sheet metal or use male end from trashed seat belts. I realize none of this exactly matches the original piece. My plan for the rear seats (down low on the seat frame) is to make plastic versions from a chunk of plastic bedliner which is HDPE and very tough and wont break. Of course these will not be obvious like the console top ones are.

Unless the console mounted clips are different, they are all plastic.
