Guys,

My 65 Fury II wagon has the 383 Commando package. I am trying to find out who the manufacture was of the performance parts on the motor in the original factory package. Right now she has an Eldebrock 4 barrel carb, Eldebrock intake manifold, and a set of Hooker headers. Wondering if any of these pieces are original to the Commando package?:sSig_thankyou:

The Commando 383 had a cast iron intake with an AFB Carter. You have Hookers on it so you don't have to worry about the heat riser valve normally located on the passenger side.

I was just reading a Car Craft article about a hopped up 383. The added 750cfm carb, eldebrock intake manifold, headers, and a cam. They claimed 405 hp on the dyno, but I don't know about that. I have all the same stuff minus the cam.

how wore out is your engine? compression ratio? what edlebrock manifold do you have/ they use? what did they do to their heads? how are your heads? what ignition are they using? what is your ignition? who said your avs is a 750 cfm? is the 750 on theirs A HOLLEY? a vacuum secondary, a dual, feed dual pump, mechanical secondaries? the list goes on

WOW! I guess I didnt think of all that... I'm gonna have to do some digging on this motor to get some specs...

I like to throw a lot of info out there to make myself sound smart. Of course, I don't have any friends except in cyberland. If I get the chance I throw my arrogance out there for all to enjoy.

So what is your game plan for the car/383. Are you going to be a weekend warrior tearing up the track or stick to the street?

I think I want the car to be a weekend warrior/sleeper(but still a drivable cruiser)... nothing too crazy but enough to make people's jaws drop when I run it on the strip...

So now I need to research what I have to do to this motor to get me where I need to be...

Here is what I have on it (that I know of) right now:

Eldelbrock 750cfm carb
Eldelbrock 383 Performer intake
K&N air cleaner
Hooker headers to daul exhaust
(Not sure about the internals yet)
