So I was wondering, is this image from the Service Manual the best I can get for the routing of the tail pipes for a 1970 Sport Fury? I'd like to get the correct bend/exit point for the tail pipes. Does Waldron's or anyone like that make correct pipes/muffler? Any recommendations would be welcomed.

Haha. I guess this has already been open for debate. I don't necessarily need it perfect. I'd just like a general idea of how the bends look and where they should exit. I know they should not go straight back. Well, maybe the GT. Otherwise, if looking at the back bumper straight on, they look to bend outward and down.

This is a little different. Not getting into which is better. On mine the tail pipes are Inside the springs. And it is no longer on the blocks. Only for part of a day, to drop the tank and and put tires on...

Thanks for the pics guys. Now I'm more confused than ever. Haha.

Is there any way you could post a pic of the tail pipes. I want to see where they exit the rear and the type of turn-down.

I cant. I don't have one and it is off the car. They followed straight between the springs and tank and turn down just before the rear valance. Really the only way you could see them was to be directly behind the car.

We debated this with Critters car, nice as it is, they are incorrect in placement after the mufflers

So wait, Critter's is wrong? It's exactly like the image from the Service Manual. Or is that the problem-Plymouth didn't actually follow what was printed...?

I have the TTI pipes on mine too. They probably aren't as "correct" in placement and shape as others, but they fit really nice and are close enough for me.

For whatever it's worth, mine came off a 71 sport fury with about 70,000 miles. The mufflers were new and one tailpipe was new. I suspect it was factory and dealer replacements. That was in 93

If you guys don't mind me asking, why did you go with TTI over Accurate Exhaust? I see that TTI is more expensive, but they also have a 2.5" pipe. I'll have to use a reducer coupling as my pipes are 2.5 from the manifold if I use Accurate Exhaust. I do like the "more" original look of Accurate.

I guess another question is, are there any schematics for these pipes? In other words, would a good muffler shop be able to make these? Without any actual dimensions or an original pipe, they'd just be guessing unless they had something.
