Sat down for the news and seems every Bay Area station has Dwight Clark as the lead story and twas the first I heard tonight. The 49er Faithful are stunned. That catch ended the Curse of Candlestick and the Curse of the Cowboys all in one.

Very sad to hear this. My wife's Sister died of ALS, as did my Sister's husband; both had it at the same time. Ron when first. No two people ever have the same symptoms or conditions. Truly a mysterious disease.

Man, this is the last thing I wanted to read......this worry has been causing my misery the past 2+ years, it has made my life a living hell. I would not wish this disease on my worst enemy.

No Snotty..not as far as I know but I have been worried that I do. Everybody thinks I am nuts......who knows, maybe I am. The story of my worry is too long to write here but if you search my posts going back you may be able to find what I wrote a while ago. I am obviously a worrier even sometimes when there are no hard facts to back it up. I've allowed it to take my favorite stuff away from me. I am working on it but it hasn't been easy. It is impossible to know what anxiety does unless you experience it. I'll tell you, don't ever google your symptoms, just listen to your doctor.

Well, based on the five people I have personally known who have died from this incurable disease, if you've had it for 2.5 years, something of yours will not be working by this time: Left hand, your tongue, legs, can't swallow, one or both of your arms. It takes it's toll within five years. Life expectancy once it's diagnosed is less than 5 years. Symptoms start to develop early. My Brother-in-law started speaking with a lisp, but he never lost his ability to speak. My Sister-in-law noticed her fingers did not respond well to buttoning her shirt. Pretty soon she could not use the fingers on either hand. Even so, she still went on her seventh (and last) Mission Trip to Mongolia! A Church Member couldn't swallow, the then couldn't speak, even though every thing else worked great.

So, if it's been 2.5 years and everything still works, I wouldn't worry too much about your having ALS. That's my thinking.
