Gimmick or useful gadget?

Been around for a bit, never used one but makes a lot of sense.

Certainly looks promising and worth a try. I didn't look for a price, but I can't see it being too expensive.

Hi there Halifaxhops.

I'm curious if this car looks familiar to you. The light bar isn't original to the car and it's just sitting on the roof.

I think they mean 4$ (5.5$), no way it could be 40$ (55$) for a very little piece of bent and drilled brass.

It looks cool, but in the before/after videos, these guys never thought to remove the choke blade and perhaps use a high-speed camera?

And compare the same amount of throttle with the little brass piece mounted or not...

Oh MOST USEFUL...... to dollar store stock holders, Amazon.coN, Ronco, et cetera ad absurdum.

Looking down the primaries in their video from 4:20 to 4:40 confuses me... they move the throttle linkage and the accelerator pump operates with a pretty strong amount of fuel. The issue I have is the throttle plates never move??? I'm also finding the background sounds to be disconcerting... not on an engine obviously... can somebody explain the air noises???

Not a carburetor guru, but I know how they work... I have seen accelerator pumps that delivered the fuel poorly as in not enough or a poor spray pattern... @$5 I would find the additional atomization interesting enough to watch somebodies results and maybe consider trying one myself (or breaking out the snips and making one) after seeing several good results.

@$55 I would be wondering if you would like to help out that nice prince over in Africa... you know, the one who needs to give all his money away if you would just pay a little up front.

I really find their dyno results offensive... if you ever drove with a failed accelerator pump, you know when it affects the engine (initial throttle opening)... I don't see how that would translate to those numbers, during the long seconds of a WOT dyno pull... the fuel from the accelerator pump would be long gone before peak numbers hit the table.

Poor fellow, you actually SAT THROUGH THAT BULLSHIT SESSION? I admit I dragged it with my mouse, so I endured them for about 15 seconds. These idiots can't EVEN LIE or come up with DECENT FALLACIES! Maaaaybeeeeee I should "invent" some Tech Revolution to subsidize getting Tilly's tranny rebuilt. My Problem is this "conscience" stuff. Always got in the way of me "realizing my potential" as a crapitalist.

LOL I couldn't watch the whole thing, but it played while I did other stuff... as luck would have it I stopped to look when the throttle plates weren't moving and had to go back to identify when that was in the video. The rest was... well torture... I waited to hear somewhere any clarification of the function of the accelerator pump, but in the tradition of junk advertising, it was all hype BS.

Don't take the time for such a complicated installation. There are more powerful options that are easier to install: Stickers that you just apply on your air filter housing. Then let the Orgone crystals do their magic. Your engine will have more power, consume less fuel, run smoother and the car corners better...

It is a real one. From what I was told, it should have been patrolling your town from the mid-eighties to mid-nineties, though I think it was just a back-up car towards the end of it's career.

I always think if this had any real benefit, the manufacturers would have it, or a semblance of it, on something, at some point. There were 70 years of carburetor R&D by all the manufacturers before EFI really went mainstream. If it worked, someone would have used it. But some people always think they thought of something nobody else could have.
