Score!!! What a deal on new Wheels and tires!

:mob:
Yeah I definitely am keeping these wheels on for now, simply because the WSW that were on there were from 86’ and I’m pretty sure one at least was separated. Also when the guy at discount tire took a cap off he literally came to get me to show me how heavy the caps were, no joke I always doubted in movies when guys would frisbee a hubcap at their enemy and KO him, but after holding one of those wire caps I was like :wtf:. So aside from a little tramlining on bad roads :steering:, I’m going to leave those on until I find something more appropriate or better. The good news is the new wheels were a lot of kit for the money, Maybe I can trade up or sell at higher value once I find something.

And thanks BLIMP... gotta stay positive.... otherwise what the hell are we doing? I do this whole car thing because I love it. I’m a petrosexual. Gear head through and through. What’s the point unless it’s enjoyed.... for better or worse.

Would you feel better about the wheels if I just went to larger tires? Maybe 255/55/18 rear and 235/55(60)/17 front? That was my first thought was not enough poke and sidewall for a C body.
Thanks

No ... these really need the 70 or 75 on it . Even a 15" 60 can be a bit narrow

It'd be nice if it was all one color. Get that puppy painted!
Definitely but not mine a friend from the frozen north. Pics about a year or so old I'll have to get an update. Chads video reminded of it. Thought you guys would get a kick out of his one of none.

What is that tick-tick sound on acceleration? My Newport does the same thing especially up steep hills. I just assumed my timing needed adjustment but I would appreciate if someone would tell me if I'm wrong.
Easy to understand issue. The car has an exhaust leak at the manifold gasket. What sounds like ticking is actually just the exhaust gas escaping from the cylinder where the leak is. Just replace your exhaust manifold gaskets, or possibly the donut gasket between the manifold and the downpipe and it’ll go away. Also you’ll have some restored performance. Exhaust leaks close to the engine like that cause a loss in backpressure and a slight power loss will occur. I’m changing mine tomorrow and will post a new video afterward.
Good luck!

Thank you, thats an easy fix.

Can someone tell me, or provide a link to information on this Monaco?

That's a buddy of mine I got the interior for my 69 from. That video chad posted reminded me of his phantom convertible and I figured you'd all get a kick out of it. I'll see if he has it painted by now. Been a while.

He went by the screen name "Marko" on the drydpck.

I really like the convertibles. I found a couple c bodies, Lincoln’s, and a galaxie 500 Verts here locally on CL for cheap.

Sorry to be the olger here but those wheels/tires aren't working. Your right, it's not a hot rod, it's an elegant car. Mopar road wheels with 235 75 15 Cooper white walls will make that car jump.

Yep. Road wheels would’ve been my first choice. A 16” with 245/70/16 would’ve been perfect for my car. I am going to a few Mopar shows this weekend, and I have advertised the current Torqflites for either sale or trade. Love the way your car looks.

Yep, 16" Road Wheels would have been great. Looking for the rare 17" ones myself.
Good luck with the Torqflites.

Super confused. I’m guessing with Polara71 being here they don’t make a 16”, it jumps from 15 to 17. ****, now I’ll have to go look.....

Better yet, remove the manifold gaskets and don't replace them.

The factory never used gaskets between the manifold and the head and you shouldn't either.

Was this on the small blocks as well? My understanding was only the big blocks had no gaskets from the factory. I would love to know for certain.
