Hey look what I did today. I started her up. And drove down the yard to the shop. Basically just let it run & shifted the trans a bit. Driver door is sticking so worked on that some. Better but not right still.

I bought a reman distributor from Advance Auto for the 300. Installed it today & it started up & I quickly got my timing light out & set the timing. It runs WAY better now. Idles very nice & takes the gas great. Now to bleed the brakes & check that all my lights are working & I’ll go for a short drive. I made a video with my phone of the car running buy I don’t know how to upload it. This is a major step in the right direction.

Now that I have the 300 running good. I am working on the brakes. The pedal is very soft. I started gravity bleeding & that helped some. Experience told me to check rear shoes to see if they where bad. Shoes adjusted a little on the tight side & had a lot of lining left but brake cylinder was froze. The hard metal line is rusty so I twisted the cylinder out to save the line. I will check the other side too since I’m this far into it.

Seeing this car in person almost made me think I need one... almost... I have enough going on with what I've got already. No more parking left is really my saving grace though...

You can get this one & then you watch the progress up close. No need to log onto FCBO & view those pics. Think of how much time it will save you

Bob is the nut rusted to the line or is the line so rusty you were afraid it would leak if it twisted a little bit? If it's just the nut stuck on the line some heat will loosen it, I deal with it all the time in the rust belt.

I think it’s both. I took some sand paper & cleaned up the line. Sprayed the nut with a rust dissolver. Still wanted to twist the line. Not ready to do a complete brake overhaul/restoration yet. Just want to get some brakes on it so I can drive it & see what all needs attention. I thought about some heat but I really think the line needs replacing.

Maybe I could free you up a spot of a certain 2 door?
Hmm... if your son drives his Charger, you could leave the stuff too far down the alphabet at home and I would have at least one Formal there (you'd be spoiled enough to WANT to road trip the Formal)... this idea has promise.

US Mail deliverd the wheel cylinders for the 300 today. Fed X lost the package I ordered for Furyious. I’m trying to button Furyious up because one of the local tracks has been having test & tunes all winter. I asked them if that will continue & they said yes as long as weather is good they plan to open at least 1 day on the weekend. They have been getting good car count too.

Well I finally got good fluid comming out of all 4 bleeders. Did a gravity bleed on all 4 corners. Only air I got was on the right rear. Tightened all the bleeders & topped off the master. Still no pedal. When I start the car I can hear a hissing sound under the dash when I press on the brake pedal. Does that mean my brake booster is bad ?
