Do some people think it's possible to buy things person to person without cash? There is no such thing as a serious buyer without cash.

I've always pondered what that meant " I will give you X , cash". Well, explain what your other options might be would you?

I've been known to tell a seller that I have cash and it's a no b.s. deal before I make an offer. Its part of the negotiations. I've also put that in a want ad a time or too, but someone that starts the conversation with that phrase is probably full of crap.

I know, as apposed to what?
What’s that line even suppossed to do? Chances are I have more cash my pocket.
Is somebody going to finance a “$2,500” C body?
Or going to sell one with a “rent to own” option?

I usually tell people that I'm on the way with cash. So they better be where we agreed to meet with 100% of what we agreed to sell/buy and it better be the one in the picture and in the condition that we talked about.

And by the way...... Don't be alarmed but I will have at least a S&W 9mm with me for your protection and mine. And I'm not talking about sockets or wrenches.

That's just the simple truth.... no games.

That's how I was able to get my first Polara, payments to the owner, car was mine when paid off. Didn't have a lot of money, but I laid out a plan and we both agreed to it. Did that with my '72 W200 also. Not so much these days, but I couldn't have gotten firmly entrenched in the hobby without these two deals.

Nothing wrong with that if you can work out a deal.

Would you take in Silver? How about in Gold?

I did using my Cap 1 card. I got a card with a proviso of spending at least $1500 within the first 60 days, using at a dealer. I gave the dealer $1500 in cash and put the rest on the card. I had it paid off within 6 months. I had cash for the whole deal, but I needed a card so all in all it was a deal!

Really? Whos gonna do that in todays world? They only say cash because they think it enhances the offer and for no other reason .

Like when people say " I got it for X out the door" . Huh? Why even say it?

When I bought Missouri the seller asked (on the phone) if I would be paying in cash . After I hung up I looked at the phone and said " how the Eff else would I pay"?

Bitcoin is a digital asset and a payment system invented by Satoshi Nakamoto, who published the invention in 2008 and released it as open-source software in 2009. The system is peer-to-peer; users can transact directly without an intermediary. Transactions are verified by network nodes and recorded in a public distributed ledger called the block.

I'm sure some of the humor will be lost in the translation. :poke:
