WARNING -DON'T DO THIS TO YOUR WASHER RESERVOIR!!!

The real question is who is going to donate a NOS bottle that has the integrity to withstand the mold process?:poke:

The good part is the mold process puts virtually no pressure on the original product. In the case to try and duplicate these washer fluid containers, you would have to cut the mold in half, so I can't imagine any damage to the original.

The video of the product spinner is really cool but the way.

what about blow molding or injection molding?
I don't know if you could really do injection molding for this piece. You have the internal cavity you would have to figure out and it just would be very expensive no matter what. Blow molding would be cheaper, but you won't get the detail and things like the mounting tabs.

They were originally rotational cast.

The only way these will be made is by an individual. I think they are very doable. The rotational tools are cool, but to me that is the fine tuning of the process. Someone with a good bottle needs to step up to the plate.

I am not really interested in doing it at this point, but would be happy to pass on to anyone, what I have learned from the mold making process.

Just received word from a smaller Rotomolder. He is interested in a preliminary investigation to look into producing the 3431154. He is going to have a word with the other folks in his little company (partners?) and get back to me. This is not what I was expecting! Anyway, before the excitement gets out of hand, I wonder if we can help this company decide to do this? I wonder if we can Poll the membership twice? The first Poll is just to see How Many people would like a new reservoir, and how many units....or more to the point; how many jugs would be needed to satisfy all orders for the 3431154, for the entire population of this club. One figure, to tell the Rotomolder people. Then, after they do their number crunching and come up with their Retail Price, take another Poll, this time WITH THE PRICE, and see how that first number (Total Units Requested) changes. What do you all think about taking a Poll? P.s., I love the home-made wooden version. It reminds me of The Barneycopter! 1/7/19

I have already discovered there are a lot of people who may say they want something, not so many when they are not sold for $39.95.

I did the soup-to-nuts math on some roof rail seals. A zillion guys were looking them.
Yet the final numbers said I would have lost my shirt.

A better plan may be to try and track down the molds from when these were being reproduced 10-15 years ago. With the cost of the molds being so high, it seems like it would be crazy for someone to have destroyed them when they stopped making the bottles. I bought these a bit over ten years ago from E-Booger on ebay. I think he had them listed as NOS, but they are obviously repops. Mopars by Crane went belly up in 2009, but I doubt that they were the manufacturer.

It's so typical that they couldn't get the years correct on the labels.
