What did you do to your C-body today....

Pull the Driver-side door panel to access the window motor and regulator, I hear and feel the motor turning but the window does not go up and down. It appears it’s a relatively new motor. Attempted to search the forum for a “window regulator repair” thread., none of the ones that came up were what I needed. Can someone direct me to a thread that would help me diagnose and/or remove the motor and or regulator please? Thx

Would the motor repair for the 70 be the same? I did the Mr. C. trick with the steel nuts in place of the plastic pucks and it works great.

Thank you for the lead Graham, I have to get the motor and regulator out first to see if the plastic gears inside the motor or shot. I just didn’t know where to start to pull it out, I didn’t want to remove things that may not need to be removed. I’ll check out the thread you direct me to. Thanks again

The neighbors are wondering what's going on with all the cars out back....
The old ones are ready for Volo. Only need to put the skirts back on the Imperial, and wash them.
Just been paying attention to old cars lately, but realized, I can't neglect the servicing the new one.

Man that’s sharp.. without given up the ghost, can you give a ballpark on what it ran you?

Make absolutely sure you know how to safely remove that window motor before you start taking it apart. You have to drill a hole through the window regulator and bolt it up before removing the window motor. That regulator spring with take fingers off it if becomes unsprung. Check out the FSM first.

For the long haul to Volo I checked over the Boab. Clamped down the rear leaf springs, tightened down the inside rearview mirror. Loaded up tools and fluids. Put on a cheap pair of wipers and the nos ones in tbe trunk. Got chairs umbrellas too!

Earlier this week I replaced the water pump. In the mean time I blasted and the fan and pulley and had them powder coated. Drove it just a few miles last night. Cleaned up the garage tonight. I hope to take it to work tomorrow.

Connecting under dash heater/AC vacuum lines and installed three out four cat whiskers.

over the weekend finally finished up the water injection kit and plumbed in a manual boost controller to allow me to selectively move up from the 5psi waste gate springs without all the work of R&R on the springs themselves, which is a bit of a chore to do on the car. Got the a/c recharged as well, held a great 20" vac overnight.

It was a good day!

If that Desoto had the chrome on the roof, if swear it was the one I sold back in the early '80s.

And you're right...it's sweet!

I believe it and the New Yorker are works of automotive art.
I've never really seen examples of these up close before.

Came home from vacation to a little transmission seepage on the floor. Transmission pan gasket seeping a little and my speedometer pinion seal is leaking. Re torqued the pan, I probably got about 1-2 turns out of every bolt. A little thermal expansion must have compressed the gaskets a little. I had to order a seal for my speedometer pinion. Hopefully have it by Friday. Also decided to check my valve cover torque, it was even looser but not leaking yet. It is amazing at how much a little heat expands things and contracts when cool.

Fixed my speedometer pinion seal on Thursday evening. First attempt was putting in with it installed. Not much room to work. It was much easier and faster to pull the whole pinion out.

Drove it for ice cream and saw 10 - 20 classic and street rods coming from somewhere. Found out later I missed the “Show and Shine” at the local upscale Walmart.

Also drove it to work Friday and hauled 4 coworkers to lunch.
And stopped off at my Father-in-laws on the way home to mow his lawn.

Back home letting it cool off before I opened my garage door. It stays around 70 -75 degrees if I keep the door closed.
