Not trying to compete with Doc. My collection is a little more diverse. From '53 Mercurys, and Studebaker Avantis, to IH, F.W.D. and Oshkosh trucks. It's about time for me stop buying stuff, as I am all out of space. My 3 buildings are jam packed, and I have 5 trucks stored at a friend's place. Add in parts vehicles stored outside and the number is in the 40's. This month alone finds me scrambling to make room for a '71 Chevy C-20 with a Holmes 220 wrecker boom in the box, a '35 Farmall F-30, and now this coupe. I have attended Iola every year since 1976, but I spend almost the whole show in the swap meet.

At one time I was determined to have a "Goldie", and as a IH parts manager, had collected many of the hardest to find N.O.S. parts to build one. Time marched on, and I ran across a fellow that really needed some of what I had to finish his truck. He wasn't a wealthy guy, and I made him a screaming deal on the stuff. IIRC I gave him two headlamp doors, two taillamps, the tailgate T-handle, and something else, all mint N.O.S. for $300.00. I still have a few N.O.S. things floating around here, like the front panel ornament bar w/ gold IH, door hinges, parking light lenses, pedal pads, gas pedal, and a fair amount of engine, driveline, and brake parts. Over the years, I have purchased the left over parts inventories of three out of business IH truck dealers. Most of the stuff that doesn't fit what I collect, which are Scout ll's and '69-'75 light-line trucks, is piled up in boxes, totes, and corners, spread out at every property I own. Hence, I seldom can find anything, when someone wants it. Currently the time I spend looking for things negates any profit, so at this time I rarely try to sell anything. I hope to "mine" this gold in my retirement. And by the way, I haven't gotten around to mentioning the Imperial to my wife yet, so I better go get those locking hub parts off her kitchen table!

Wow I didn't even know that model. That had to be the most beautiful truck ever. Those lines from the tailgate to the cab with the slight dent where the taillights sit. That is not designed to haul stuff on a farm and be a workhorse, that's just fabulous artwork

You definitely have "The Disease."

My dad sold IH for 35 years so I grew up with a new IH demo in the drive! I wanted the 1-25 Golden Jubilee model high up on the shelf in the parts department but never succeeded but I eventually got a real one, love the front and rear styling, Those are 54 Buick tail lite lenses and reflectors that IH bought from GM!! It even has a wonder bar radio mounted on the roof! an early example of a rare luxury truck! Id love to dig through your accumulated parts and see your collection Iola Kid!!
