I scored a nice single snorkel air cleaner on eBay this week. I had the smaller CAP style.

I intent on getting it media blasted and powder coated... what is the gasket material that mates/seals the top and bottom made of? It looks like some kind of old weather stripping? What can I use to replace?

Thanks!

JR

On the right of your screen is an ad for Detroit Muscle Technologies. If they don't already have them available they will make one for you. Good people.

I’ve bought it from them.

Bill Rollik Enterprises has a listing for an air cleaner lid seal on the 2nd or 3rd page of his carburetor parts section, also many other hard to find parts. See if this may be what you need for your application.

During my 440 re-engine project I purchased a lot of stuff from Bill Rollik. I found all the impossible-to-find stuff from him like: bolts to attach the front pulley to the harmonic damper, bolts to attach the torque converter to the engine flex plate and inspection cover, proper PCV hose and clamps, carburetor throttle return springs and many other bits a pieces you can't find anywhere else.

Nice score! I've restored a bunch of factory air cleaners. The replacement seal is always part of the job, but not all shops are created equal. :usflag:

Wow. Nice work! I agree... Why do it half-a$$ed.

What finish is that? Satin? I'm having mine powder coated in semi-gloss, and going with a "Commando 383" cover cap. Not year correct..but it's my car. Lol

Nice Lime green on that Cuda as well.

Thank you!! :D I've had my Cuda over 28 years. (Restoring its parts back in 1999 introduced me to a fun hobby that is now my career.)

All three of those are my powder match for Mopar's famed black wrinkle but I have a BUNCH of others in stock from flat black to ultra shiny.

My mission on every project is to take the picture you have in your head and turn it into reality.

Although this one is an aftermarket air cleaner lid, it's one of my semi-gloss blacks that might be more of what you're looking for.
