I want my 61 Chrysler to zing around WV mountain roads.
A friend, that does a ton of forward look cars, said on the rare occassion that he adds a sway bar, he uses one from a 65-68 C body.
I was told it clamps to the strut rods
Does anyone have a pictute of this sway bar set up that I could look at.
Going to be needing one with all mounting hardware if this works out.
Thanks for any help.

Attached is a pre '65 front suspension with rear tension mount torsion bar suspension with a front stabilizer. (Stabilizer stayed mostly the same)

The '65 and later units also ran a stabilizer link to a frame bracket mounted on the inside of the frame rails. You would need to weld the appropriate frame brackets to make the later style stabilizer work.

This one's kinda cruddy, but shows the psgr side sway bar frame mount and clamp.

Driver's side is a little clearer on the clamp area.

If you can't find one closer, I have a couple, but they're all in snow banks here in Northern Minniesnowta.

Thank you very much for the help. Gives me an idea of what I'm looking at how it works.

Thank you very much.
These photos. and the drawing sent previously, really spell it out.
What years, and model vehicles, would I find this set up on?
Can you get new rubber, preferably in urethane, for this set up somewhere.
If I cant source this locally, how much, and how long, to get one from you?
Thanks again for taking the time to explain it so a guy unfamiliar with these cars can understand it.

If it was 70 and up AMC, I could do it blindfolded.

My 1970 Chrysler 300 has a brand new rear swaybar, that helps to go around the corner....
BTW, I replaced the front sway bar with a thicker 1 " one, the 2.2 ton car handles now like a rally car

Where did you get that rear sway bar and is it vehicle specific?
Trying to get my 61 Newport to handle these WV curvy mountain roads.

I got my front and rear end swaybar from Firm Feel, in Vancouver, WA.
You solve with this new stuff also the problem with the very hard to get rubber bushing in the front bar!
On ebay I paid $ 100 for those NOS bushings.

Yes, the sway bar is build with the car specific, it slides in without any addidional work. The rear sway bar is also a exact replacement for the Mopar NOS part.

They have an excellent customer support, quick delivery and their products are class A!

Thank you. I'll definitely look into it when I get that deep into it n

I have been looking for a factory sway bar that will fit a 61 Plymouth.
So far I have not seen a factory equipped 60-64 of any model.
60-62 300 and NY have factory sway bars, but the frame is longer and I am unsure if they are the same?
I have heard some talk of 64-66 imperial sway bars with some modification working?
