Since we are on lock down I've been exploring the woods behind my house more. Lots of bottles, a stove and the remains of a old truck. So far gone no telling what it is, until a clue surfaces. This is a piece of a old headlamp, either kerosene or carbide about 1905-1920.

So much we can do and still maintain our physical distancing. Taking the kayak out now.

Yes, exploring is extremely fun! I can't read what's on that so I can't explore it myself!!!!!

 I predict a sharp rise in metal detectors...

Man, I have been kickin that idea around for I don't know how long? I'm also thinkin of getting back into Archery, haven't done that since I was a Boy Scout!

Hey that's Carl our Canada Goose we wondered where he went....

He should be back soon. The border is still open for returning Canadians.

There are two geese that have resided in downtown Edmonton for years, that always show up early. They've been here for about a month now. I don't know why they don't fly with the other's.

Welfare geese taking handouts. They won’t leave as long as they have food.

These guys go somewhere for winters, show up early, and seem to leave early too. Compared to the other geese. Their old nesting spot was the three granite blocks stacked on top of eachother in the very center of downtown. So the little goslings had to drop over 12 feet to leave the nest. Then, good citizens had to block downtown traffic in order to escort them to the river. Very heartwarming! And nothing is funnier than stopping your car for a couple of geese walking properly though a pedestrian crosswalk in the middle of downtown!

I am exploring supper and maybe a snack for lunch while I work today.
Pulled Chuck roast with onions.
Slow smoke at 240 degrees until temp hits 145. Put it in a pan with beef broth and cream of mushroom soup and continue slow to around 175 degrees. And then foil cook until it falls apart.
(Recipe from smoking-meat.com).
Using my Big Green Egg.

Found this bin full of old brochures. That 70 cuda brochure has always been a favorite! Got this one from Dameron Motors in Farmington, Mi. late summer 69.

Apparently this H.S. sophomore’s dream cuda, according to my blue pencil marks, was a:
Vitamin C cuda hdtp
340 auto 3:55 rear
rear defrost
power windows
houndstooth cloth buckets
rallye wheels 15x7 std on 340
elastromeric bumpers
racing mirrors
I know an 8 track stereo would have been mandatory too.

Loved those hidden parking lamps. That was one of Dad’s grilles. This design ended up in a lawsuit involving a pigeon and a whiny customer.

Finally able to take a look at this site. Been busy as the substitutional chief of our City Treasury for 7 months now as my Boss had some extensive heart surgery, now he can't come back due to the infection risk, but they finally arranged for a few home Office Computers which gives me the oppurtunity for the first Holiday in about 9 months.

O.K. Peter. The question iz and I preface it first. Being Canadian yourself, you should have an inside track on this one: How do you tell who the daddy and the mommy iz with those birds unless you happen to see 'um when one iz riding the other and I'm not inclined to stay up late to watch that take place. Once they're done with that act how can you tell which iz which? With most Bird critters like Mallards) it easy no mater who's on top but not Canadian Geese, WTH? It's keepin' me up late Pal. I need help on this one, PAHLEEZ, Jer

As with other species isn't the one constantly squawking the female? But seriously, there is no way when they are by themselves, but if they are together as a pair...

"Unlike other birds, such as mallard ducks, the male Canada goose doesn't have distinctive, colorful plumage that separates him visually from the female. If you see a pair of geese together, chances are the bigger of the pair is the male; male Canadian geese tend to be about 10 percent larger than the females." You can sleep now.
