Hi, If this post is against the rules, let me know. Just bought a new Kimber 45 pistol, which grips do you like?

Nothing gaudy or fancy, as long as I can "grip" it securely, so likely something with a checkered finish.
This has been my preference for nearly 20 years.

I like the individual finger loops on that Grip John. Never been a real fan of the M1911 although I had no trouble shooting expert with it in the Corps, but that waz before Kimbar waz even around. My personal choices are for revolvers for the fun plinking tho'. Two that I've owned were both S&Ws. M53. .22 Remington Jet(Did you know that ah 65 grain round leaves the muzzle @ 4000FPS) on that guy?. And my fave iz the M29 Dirty Harry .44 Magnum. I used to deer hunt with that puppy in a shoulder holster under my hunting coat and more then once I waz ask while wondering around the woodz where my gun waz. Eyez would get big when I'd open up the right side of my coat and expose that beast. lol FWIW, I shot one deer in the early '60s and didn't really care for the taste of venison so after that I kicked the game up a notch by going to a two hand hold with iron sights 6" bbl. and had tonz of fun for many many yearz, Jer
I'm a traditionalist so I like the standard wood grips but I do like the Pachmayr's on John's 1911. I just picked up a new carry gun today. Stainless finish Colt Defender with wood grips. I'd have preferred the blued stainless but all firearms are hard to find now. I'd do the Pachmayr's but I want to keep it as thin as possible to reduce silhouette while carrying.

That .50 cal is on my list, under Not Practical, but Fun As Hell. Still pissed I couldn't get a .44 in green with matching scope.Love the Dirty Harry 44, But, what no Desert Eagle 50 for a backup?

You might want to look into night sights also.
Dave. At some point I ask myself how much more is necessarily better. I shot competitively for years, hand loaded everything and it's been a great journey. Arthritis in both hands has slowed me down some of late tho'. I've been looking for a Winchester M12 Trench gun to replace my house gun for a while now. Got one of those leaning in a corner of your closet? 12 gauge .00 Buck Shot sendz a pattern at 20' that makes it hard to miss what your aiming at. lolLove the Dirty Harry 44, But, what no Desert Eagle 50 for a backup?
