Calling anyone in Alberta

^^ Thanks to all! I called him again today....left message. He's supposed to send me photos, so we'll see. I might be taking a risk here but if it's as rust free as he says it is and the interior is good (needs cleaning) it might not be too bad! The funny thig is....per capita, I'd be willing to bet there are more 2 door Formals in Alberta (this is the 5th or 6th in the last 3 years) and to a lesser degree in the rest of Canada than the US! Maybe we have more demolition derbies too...LOL! Anyway, thanks to you guys for the assistance. BTW, the car is listed on Kijiji!

Alberta and Sask are known for the hp cars brought in during the oil boom

I just found another Formal coupe a '78 NYB in you guessed it.... Grande Prarie Ab. I thought that car was sold about a year ago, back on Facebook! And BTW the guy with the '74 Imperial just raised his price to $3000. instead of $2000.! After he said what he wanted, which was $2k! And still no pictures.

Have you called the Canadian/USA border to see if you can even move a vehicle across right now? Pretty sure they are only allowing "Essentials" to move across the border, goods and services and I doubt they would think a classic car is an essential item.

I'm in the market for a 71 Superbee and called the border a month or so ago and they told me I could not bring a classic car up from the US.

^^ Damn...never thought about that! I don't suppose they'd believe it's Primary Transportation would they? Like I said before...Until I see some pictures I asked for, I'm not doing anything! The guy has a Far Eastern accent (Asian/ Orient) and is difficult to understand at times.

Anybody following this thread....I posted 2 1974 Imperial listings with the help of someone else and I think made a mistake posting them on the right thread but they're there now to observe!

If it's on a commercial vehicle being shipped, zero problems. Trade and transportation is considered essential.

You probably can't do it yourself but if you use a Common Carrier for transportation and a Customs Broker to import it, it's just freight. Trade and transportation are considered essential.

US to Canada requires a copy of the Title be sent to US Customs 72 hours before arrival with the original to process the export docs for pickup before it exits the US.

Except for shipments travelling in-bond for inland clearance, all commercial entries have to be precleared before they enter Canada.

Just make it a condition of the sale that the Title has to clear US inspection and the Canadian side of the transaction clears Customs and you have a deal.

Thanks Kevin. I didn't have any problems with the '77 NYB 3+ years ago..... Of course I drove it to customs and had all paperwork.... and went on my way!

To my helpful friends in Albert the car is located in "Grande Cache". He told me it's south of Grande Prairie about 2 hours. But as of right now no pictures!

Hey Albertan's! Does anyone know about the previous listing in Grand Prarie for the 1974 Imperial coupe? The guy was supposed to email me some pictures and got none after a couple weeks and then I didn't see any adds on Kijiji anymore. Did one of you guys buy it?

Kijiji adds are for 60 days then disappear unless renewed, so it's not necessarily sold.

Thanks, but that add was only on there for about 3 weeks and can't seem to find his phone number! Oh well....Probably for the best!

Can't find it in your call logs? If it's on a cell phone you should be able to look up your calls for a few billing cycles. It is most likely a 780 area code, possibly 587.

300rag: I've looked all over my notes and such....nothing! I believe it's 587 area code. It's just plain carelessness on my part! I have a habit of not keeping order when it comes to paperwork! Thanks guys, I appreciate your input/concern!

Heck....That's the last site I check every nite! Thanks for the tip! It has the St. Regis roof....it is a little pricey though. Thanks!

While you are calling Canadians , please call Wes Miles of 55-25112 Twp. road 542A Sturgeon County AB . Tell him to pay for his front bumper.
