The seller said AM/FM 8 track. That’s why I put the R37 code. However, as pointed out by @saforwardlook here and @polara71 above, such a choice was not available on Polaras in 1970. I’ve edited accordingly (and added a bunch more info too, for records).

A photo of the R22 radio and dash can be seen here.

Thank you.... sellers don't always know . They presume they know. Take their thoughts for what they're worth ..

Here is a photo of the car back in the day, sometime after 1991 when the current owner acquired it but before he repainted it. Original EB3 blue paint, V3W white top and front bumperettes still on, but wheels/mirrors/exhaust already modded.

Not quite. And you missed Buttercup. Not all of them will be staying with me forever, though. My long-term equilibrium is three (maybe four) cars, including Poppy and a certain ‘71 Newport that @saforwardlook knows well.

**WANTED C BODY MECHANIC**

I already have one who puts up with me :poke:

Don’t know about C body but R22 was AM 8 track stereo with 3 speaker dash in 68-70 B bodies

Any C body with an 8 track radio came with a 3 speaker dash as well since the tape player was stereo, even if the radio itself was not.

I talked again with the seller's brother yesterday evening, and he confirmed what I'd seen in the photos sent to me: this car does not have a 3-speaker dash, it has an opening for a single speaker (which is currently topped with a custom cover). He says that the radio in the dash (which he is adamant has an 8-track unit, not a mere cassette player) was there back in 1991 when the seller acquired this Polara. I've asked for an additional picture of the radio.

On a side note, among the spare parts that come with the car is a "wood" plate for the radio cover in the dash -- and there is no opening for a tape player in it. Mysteries...

No three speaker dash, no 8 track, no am/fm. Well, there shouldn't be. Unless a sheet shows up or the tag, presume it was built AM.
