The second one looks sharp in charcoal and black, though the blue interior is a bit of an odd combination.

You really need to be careful with these cars. About five years ago a friend of mine bought a non-St Regis top 1974 Imperial coupe. The car was very clean and had zero lower body rust, but after a while he noticed that the roof was rusting through from the inside above the drip rail on both sides. Being a brown car it wasn't obvious at first. The car was always in eastern PA, so it wasn't subject to some of the strange things that will happen down south in the super humid environment. It had to be garaged much of it's life, as the interior was very nice, with no cracks on the door panels. I would say that you need an in-person inspection or at the very least some real good close-up photos before pulling the trigger on a formal at this point in time.

Jeff: Thanks. We talked about this car about 2-3 years ago and there also was a blue 4 door Imp in Ames Iowa....non of these cars have moved (sold). These folks don't realize the pitfalls of some of these Formals! I like them because of their looks but the prices are crazy in most cases!

It used to be, for me, I had to have the St. Regis roof.
Now I dislike them the most.

I wonder how the paint looks on the blue Imp.when it is dry and not just washed. Surprised there no Garden Hose in the pic. The seller must be a Pro !

The story on the Blue Imperial is the guys dad bought the car while it was on the assembly line when he worked at Chrysler in the 60's-80's! He has the idea that because of that it's got a $25K price tag on it! I offered $3000. if he could somewhat show that the "Re-paint" was covering up any rust issues! Obviously, My offer was rejected. When dealing with "sentimental" type sellers....it's tough to tell them it ain't going to happen! Which is why I don't talk to the guy except once. The silver car ('74 in Alberta).... Still waiting for some pictures I requested.

^^I know! I know Jim Gesswein....Been there many years ago....thought I had a car bought and he then changed his mind! The '75 Gold coupe you speak of is a nice car alright but not interested in what goes on up there!
