The infamous 4-spd 76 New Yorker. Ask me anything.

No Jag.
The MKS and the Taurus are the same chassis and they go back to the Ford 500 who's chassis was used even earlier in Europe.
Basically, the MKS is dead reliable, all sorted out after almost 20 years, and parts will be
available for years.

That’s cool and good news. Reminds me of the crown Vic cop cars, Full size Lincs, and big mercs re parts availability. Thanks Stan.

plenty of room.
I seriously wanted to go to a top loader Tremec but omfg the $$$$
I now wish I had

Understand. I’ve had a pipe dream of a Passon 5 speed in my RR and or R/T someday. And an 833 Or 5 speed in a 67/8 slab or Fusie. I’d be doing a touring version like I think you said earlier or whatever you said. Can’t recall the term you used at the moment.

But like CCR said someday never comes ... but there’s a chance lol

I may win lottery yet!

I bought 22 scratch offs last night.... I'm still working when I get back

In the Edmunds article, 2016 was the last year of that body. My suspicion is that they had ironed out the bugs by then...

All 440 4 bbls also had 18 spline and Dana btw.
As long as they were in fact 4 speeds. I know that’s what we’re talking about here but your statement when read quickly made me think for a moment that you could have been including all 440 4bbls.

Yeah good point Matt. I was specifically talking about 4 speed trannys/cars in response to Stan’s comment and our discussion of same / theme of this thread. And comment on Dana’s was definitely specific to 4 speed 440s.

Hemi, 6 BBLs, 440-4s autos did not automatically get the Dana but was an available option for the record.

“the tranny input shafts were the same (23 spline) , except for the hemi and the 4 spd 440+6 (18 spline)”

Stop it. Just buy a nice C-body and bed one with it.

I pulled the stock block and I put in a Winnie 440.
I blew that up so I built the old stock block using 100% new parts right down to the ARP. bolts. I tried to match the '69 440 HP specs as closely as possible.

Two things Stan, one, I need to at some point visit you.

Two, I really need to pick your brain about 440s. I just dropped my 73 Winnie 440 block off at the machine shop I use....

I also should pick your brain about 4 speed linkages..

Nick

For those of us lucky enough to enjoy Stan and Pamela’s hospitality in person I highly recommend it. Fuhoa is a destination I dream of visiting in the near future once this bloody virus is gone.

Does your MKS have air suspension? If not how is the ride quality? The reason I ask is .. last summer I bought a '19 Caddy XTS that does not have air suspension. I'm not in love with the the sporty ride, the nice cornering produces to harsh of a ride for my taste. Just curious if the Lincoln's were the same.

I love it. As you know automatic transmissions and astro turf ,are communist plots.
