I supported tours of Sentimental Journey, a B-17G Flying Fortress at the Sioux Falls airport today.
I will also support tours tomorrow, but on Friday, I am going on a ride in it!
I am so pumped!
I also supported 2 flights of the L-5B Sentinel.
Several people came by both aircraft today and were very appreciative of being able to see a piece of living history.

Sentimental Journey was in ‘1941’ and here is a brief history of her:

My dad flew in a B-24 in then Pacific. The B-17G was my favorite 17! Boeing had a modified B-17....it was a "Gunship" called a B-40, I believe and it was armed with 20-24 .50 Caliber Machine guns! It was rarely used because it had so much ammo (weight) on board it was too slow....couldn't keep up with the squadron.

What support work did you perform?

I have a Sioux Falls airport badge and escorted visitors that bought tours of the aircraft. Also pushed the L-5B out of the hangar and back in and filled out the hold harmless agreements for the 2 people who rode in the L-5B. They also received a certificate signed by the pilot. A great moment was I gave a tour of both aircraft to a family that had triplet boys that are 6 years old. It was great trying to keep them on the tarmac around the aircraft and not running off onto the taxiway.

This B-17 has an impressive career and history.
It will surely be an unforgettable flight; I'm so jealous.

Enjoy it!

Starting engines & pre-flight for the 10AM flight

correction: Pilot is taking his family out for a proficiency flight to remain current.
