It arrived Friday....The purple shaft to ‘69 specs. ......The new Mopar lifters as well.

Got word Thursday night that the block machined to.030 over. Condition of block excellent. Ordered The KB236 pistons And a set of rings for overnight. (The ones with the raised area to help balance out the valve reliefs.) Should put CR at a little north of 9:1. Pistons arrived here Saturday morning. Ordered the Mopar steel head gaskets.

We should be starting assembly of the short block this week. We should have it in and running in fairly short order.

Now, about that lunch I missed. How does the weekend of the 22nd sound?

Sounding good Javier.. can you post, when all said and done, a list of things done to the heads and block / parts / specs for those of us  that’s may end up doing our 440 soon? I know each engine is different and results could very.. but a base line is VERY helpful... to me.. oh oh!!!! And pics too. :)

This engine is spec'd out almost identical to the 4 spd's engine.
Glad you listened to me for a change... :poke:
Now, about that carburetor...

Mopar steel head gaskets arrived today. I hope those seal everything up tight.

Anybody hear have any experience with them?

Going to look at the short block tomorrow. Machinist is worried that the piston will go past the top of the bores. I told him the pistons come with a raised area and that if that was what he was talking about, not to worry. The chambers in the head can take that small amount and a bit more.

Damn you, Jav. I usually never have anything scheduled but you just happened to pick the ONE day that.... :(

Weekend of the 29th then. Let’s put a pin in it and we can confirm sometime before ..... say the 24th.

All south Florida members Invited to join us in Sebring. Beautiful county seat of Bumfuck Nowhere’s, where even the buzzards don’t go!

I have sprayed them with copper spray on permatex, I do not know if it helped. It did squeeze out and go into the water passages and end up in the radiator, so not great. Of I use it again it would be very, very light coat. I have also used them with nothing, and not had a problem.
