RIP Eddie, One of my favorite bands. Summer of '78, cruising around Orlando, getting stoned, "Running with the devil" blasting...good times! My daughter surprised me with tickets to see them in Jacksonville for my 50th birthday when they were on their 07-08 North American Tour.

That’s a pi**er. One of those dudes you could NOT ape. Even if you had the chops EVERYONE would know it.

One of a kind. Rest easy, man.

Eruption is arguably (although tough to think of another on this day) the greatest hard rock/metal intro to a song EVER. A soundscape into outer space. Hopefully he's playing with one of the other guitar heroes of my youth, Dimebag Darrell this evening.

One love Eddie, you inspired generations and changed the game.

Eddie Van Halen will be greatly missed on the music airways. A music icon and innovator in how to play w/ amps and guitars of his own design. A music has legend past on.

One of my childhood heros gone... Now I know how you old fuckers feel...

so.......

RIP Eddie Van Halen.

Here's a interview with a little background about the legend.

Saw him in 1986, with Sammy Hager in Wooster MA, on a busman's holiday while I was out with Seger, they Rocked the arena
